This morning I traveled to NY and skimmed through the NY Post sports section. Both in the bettors line and in the standings their is a * next to the Patriots name. Below both sections it says *Cheaters. Needless to say I'll never pick up a NY Post again. Perhaps locals in NY find it funny, I think it is poor sportsmanship by the local paper.

Yet when I looked at the baseball section for all the Yankees that took HGH and roids I never saw a *. So the point is New York teams are allowed to cheat but if a Boston team beats them they must be explicitly labeled cheaters.

I'm really looking forward to Brady and Co. schooling Eli and the Giants to obtain their perfect season.

We've noted that for the past three months.

Correct, this is hardly new news.

Just be glad hopelessness, jealousy and envy aren't all you have.

Awesome game, Eric!:D

I wonder if they'll do the same if/when Pettitte's name shows up in the Post in the future.

I love that from BB!

Next time any Jets troll comes on here, I'm just gonna write "Awesome game!"

wonder if the globe or herald might do this for the yankees standings next year...caught cheating in 2000 (or whichever year they won with clemens)

Just see this for what it is and ignore this tabloid piece of trash. It has absolutely no journalistic credibility and nobody takes this paper seriously.

I live in New York City where everybody considers the Post to be an absolute laughing stock. Over the years, they've have actually had to reduce the price to get anyone to buy it and are now resorting to having people give it away at subway stations.

Adding an * for Yankee steroids use is even more dubious than adding an * to the Pats for "cheating". And that's extraordinarily dubious. If you * the Yankees, then to be honest you must * the Patriots for Rodney Harrison.

Welcome to 3 months ago.

Have you ever picked up a NY Post before? It's a tabloid. It can be fun to read as long as you don't take it seriously.

I live in NY too and I think the Post is funny. It's much more entertaining than the Times, and I don't expect journalistic credibility from news sources anyway (except maybe the WSJ and a few blogs). I view the Post's asterisk as a form of flattery. It symbolizes how deeply the Pats success has gotten under NY's skin.

The question is when will they start doing the same to the Yankees? those 'roiders have been doing it for YEARS.

*3 Time Superbowl champions and cheater

Still much better than:
** Joke of a franchise with 1 fluky SB victory 40 years ago

I don't understand how a city that houses a team that just got clobbered by steroid allegations can call anyone a dog.

The only news here is how pathetic the Post really is. It was funny about 2 months ago. Now it is just pathetic and sad. Especially since the Yankees has gotten slammed in the Mitchell report.

Next time, pick up a real newspaper. The Post is as close as it gets to being the National Enquirer but still be recognized as a "legitimate" newspapers.

Hey, do "quotes" outrank asterisks?

The Post is $.25 for a reason. It isn't even good toilet paper. Too much ink.

It's the frigging NY Post! No point getting worked up because they might claim ...never mind. Next time you find one, read it to amuse yourself or best, ignore it and look at the good looking ladies here in NYC. :D
