What happens when we close out the 2007-08 regular season undefeated. Will Goddell have the guts to face our team in NY (Giants in meadowlands, so right in his backyard) and congratulate us ?

If I am BB/Pioli/Kraft, I refuse to see the azzwipe after the game. Rather videotape a thankyou and mail it to his offices, and tell him to stick it where it hurts :rocker:

Should make for an interesting drama come last week of the season. The worst part is to listen to those Doofus NFL Network announcers

If the Patriots go 16-0, I'm reasonably sure they will take all the accolades they will receive with aplomb and graciousness.

Pats. I think BB will hold resentment against the Commisioner until his

dying day. BB probably feels he did nothing wrong and was punished

much too severely. After the tapes were burned, the Commisioner

threatened the Pats with more penalties if any future incidents occurred.

If the Pats finish 19-0, Goodell will get a BB/Mangini hand shake.

The Patriots broke a rule and got punished. I think it was too severe and I'm not a big fan of his, but Commish Goodell was trying to send a message to the league. What I CAN fault him for is his failure to make it ABUNDANTLY clear the difference between what happened and actual "cheating."

He could've helped spin this story more accurately, could've controlled the message to some degree - and NOT to "help" Belichick or the Patriots, but to better serve his league. He didn't, he F'd it up. Not much to do about it now, but I honestly don't believe he "hates" the Patriots.

Nonsense. We will have accomplished something noone else has ever done -- a perfect 16 game regular season. It's not our ultimate goal, but it IS an accomplishment to be proud of.

As a similar example, we have now won the AFC East five years in a row. We only won the SB twice in that time (so far), and that overshadows the AFC East as an accomplishment of course. But at the end of this dynasty, one of the things in the record books for this team is at least five division titles in a row. And I bet the players are proud that they did so.

Goodell came down very hard on the Pats. He could have just fined Belichick. Instead, he came after the whole team by taking a very valuable commodity in a 1st rounder, when it is clear to everyone in the NFL that teams took all sorts of liberties regarding videoing. Goodell didn't just do his job. It's like everyone speeding on a straight away day after day and then one day, it's enforced and the unlucky driver gets a severe penalty like being thrown in prison and losing his car as punishment for only speeding.
