Hi guys,
I am not sure if this was commented on, but at the conclusion of yesterday's game, BB gave Mangina a nice handshake and said, 'Great game, Eric. Great game.' Then he was seen hugging some of the Jets players (I am sure he has relationships with some of them).
However, I was most intrigued by the big smile and face time he gave Kerry Rhodes. I don't know who Kerry Rhodes is. The only Rhodes I know (and don't like) is Dominick Rhodes. I googled Mr. K. Rhodes and found out he is a 3yr Vet with only 7 sacks and 10 interceptions...decent but not a stellar safety.
I could not imagine what relationship BB would have with this young man...he never coached him (ProBowl or whatever). Anybody with any input on this little useless tidbit of interesting irrelevance?

Kerry's stats for a 3 yr vet are impressive.

Also, Kerry and Belichick were misquoted by a dumbass reporter at around Week 1, so they probably just cleared up some stuff. Or, Kerry was telling BB to sign him in a few years!

I seriously believe that BB 'recruits' a bit post game.

Yes, I think they were laughing at the Peter King thing. I hope Belichick told him that Rhodes will be playing for him next :)

Kerry Rhodes, while having a bit of a down year, is arguably THE best young safety not named Ed Reed in the NFL. He's someone the Pats scouted heavily - then took James Sanders when the jets selected Rhodes - and who BB may have bonded with even more at last year's Pro Bowl.

If I could pick one player off the jets roster it might be Revis or David Harris, but Rhodes would be top 3, for sure.

I also got the impression after the game that BB was nurturing the relationship with the Jets player. I am not sure if this was a result of the AD story at the Pro Bowl, etc, but it is the impression I got.

It was Rhodes doing the chasing too, which I thought was interesting. Had to fight through a couple people to get him.

Belichick sure does love him a safety.

BB seems to be making an effort to give the Idiots at ESPN less fodder for their tabloid level reporting.

He now has a security sweeper to brush back the cameramen and he is smiling and shaking hands and even appearing jovial. I am sure Kraft is involved in helping BB change his perceived media image in some way.

For me it does not matter, i love the curmudgeon any way he desires to be but if it makes it harder for the soulless talking heads at ESPN to take cheap shots at him i am all for it.

That grin on his face was faker than mine when my Mother In Law shows up unannounced on a Saturday.

LOL...it did seem that way at first, but I thought that his interaction with the PLAYERS after the game was genuine. :)

I dunno about that. They had just clinched home field advantage throughout the playoffs. That will be huge going into the playoffs. More than anything, I think he was pleased at that accomplishment.

No. I think that he was happy with the win -- and happy not to have to do any more PCs talking about the Jets!

No, no one else mentioned this. I think you're the first to bring this up. ;)

No doubt about that!

I recall seeing a picture of him jawing it up with Adalius Thomas at the Pro Bowl and then lo and behold....

I think BB and SP always are looking at players on other teams they would like, which is where you get these seemingly "out of the blue" aquisitions like Sammy Morris, Wes Welker, Mike Vrabel, etc.

You don't know Kerry Rhodes? He's a damn good young safety. One of the best young ones out there.

And, yes, I do think BB 'scouts' a bit after games. Look at what happened with AD.

He genuinely hates the Jets. that was a genuinely happy manwith a malicious smile. I hope he was recruiting some LBs too.

LOL... I dunno that we want to morph into GangBlue

Anyone happen to catch (hear or lip read) what BB said to him?

I thought the words "New England" were clearly mouthed at the end of one of the sentences. The one right before Rhodes started laughing self-consciously...
