If there are any guys I think that BB should rest, the guys that come to mind are Harrison and Seymour.

The Patriots went undefeated with both guys out of the lineup and since both guys are going to be an integral part of the team when the playoffs start and since the team won - and won convincingly during the 4-6 week time these 2 players were not playing,I would think it would be a good idea to let both guys heal up the knee/Leg in Seymours case and just to give the 'ol man Harrison some time off.

Of course I would like to see others star players rest as well but we know BB will keep a near full squad in the next 2 games but why not give these 2 guys a break knowing the team didn't miss a beat when they didn't play all those weeks.

Just a thought....

Big Sey's just getting back into game shape. He has to play.

I personally would rather see Richard in the gym working that leg back in shape then hurting it on a slippery field in a meaningless game.

I can see either this weeks game or the Giants game being a slopfest, thus making footing tough and leg injury more possible.

They are calling for some Rain/Mix this upcoming weekend in New England,Although its way too early

BB always plays his guys because he wants them in game shape for the first playoff game. They have a bye so that would be almost a month between games for them and that's not good. The only time BB has rested players is when we played Miami in the last game of the season one year, but we had our first playoff game the next week.

he's been in the gym working his leg back into shape for like, ohhh, 9mos now.....what he needs is to be on the field getting his whole body into game shape. or at least that's what he said on the radio this morning (more or less)

This isn't Madden. You can't just sit a guy for three weeks and expect him to be ready for the speed of the game when you need him again.

Yeah I agree; this team is on the verge of HISTORY and shutting up Shula and the rest of the 72 Doofins forever and lets sit players down IN CASE they get hurt. Meaningless games? Lord help me wrap myself around this logic.

Let's rest players like the Dolts did in 2005 down the stretch so we can knocked out in the first round like they did..............

maybe decrease their snaps a few but both need to play

Apparently, shutting up the 1972 dolphins is more important than winning a Super Bowl. For many, it seems that this is a one-time wonder, a team with a chance at history.

being sarcastic to posters or sarcastic to BB and the team??

the only thing that matters this season is the Superbowl, anything short of that is a failure. do you want to be the only undefeated team to not win the superbowl?

I do find it interesting that BB limited DL-snaps in the Pitt game and was rotating them liberally.

any idea on this?

Why is this so difficult for so many people. BB plays his guys every game. At the most, he tends to take them out of the game early if it's a meaningless game, but obviously he values momentum, and keeping guys in football shape (if I remember correctly in 2004, brady played into the 4th Q at home during week 17 against San Fran, in a meaningless game) This team has a bye, so they'll get plenty of rest. Obviously, nobody wants to see someone get hurt in a meaningless game, but injuries can happen at any time. Brady could not play for 3 weeks, then pull a hamstring in the first minute of the playoff game due to being away from the field (obviously they practice and stretch, but you see my point).

So they can't go 16-0 AND win the Super Bowl? Why is it an either/or scenario, that's a slap in the face to the entire team, they are built to do both, relax.

Yeah, rest playes who are hurt so they can recover. Let the others play, at least three quarters. They will have a bye week, so they need to play before then so as not to get rusty or out of sync.

At this point in time (two remaining games), I don't see the dynamics of losing a game helping to win the Super Bowl. For that matter, I don't think it would help earlier in the season. Once the playoffs are here, the previous record is irrelevant. It is win or die.
I would like to see more substituting during the next two games. I'm with the program regardless of my wishes. 19-0, the greatest ever. For the next 30 years and beyond, everyone can smile when the media talks about this Patriot team.

Unless your name is Maroney, Wilson, Brown, Jackson, etc.

Why not play the football players who are getting paid to play, win the games and move on? If needed, you can limit their time on the field.

I agree; plus Indy has down this and WHAM lost the first playoff game.
Maybe take them out the 4th quarter but they do need to play.
