Now that home field and the bye is clinched, i really want Brady to get the TD record. This guy really just deserves it. He has always been in the second spot (to most people outside of NE and the media) but this year he has shown how impressive his first 3 SB were without "great" recievers and and now that he has his weapons I believe he has proven without a shadow of a doubt that he is overall the best QB in the league.

What does this mean, "he deserves it"?? If he gets it, he gets it. But what do you mean when you say he "deserves" it??

I think one argument is that it would be a shame if he falls short because of a) playing the end of the season in bad weather (we've played more heavy wind games this year than ever, and wind is the only element a QB cannot overcome) and b) because home field is clinched.

It means that he is lightyears beyond your precious #18, and the "who's better" conversation needs to finally end once and for all.

that conversation will not end until these great qb's careers are over, and even then it will probably never end, unless Brady and the Pats go nuts and win like 5 more SB's and the Colts don't win any, then it will be pretty obvious who is better.

Not to get into too much either. Wait, until about 6 years from now and Manning owns really almost every QB stat, but Brady is what about 2 years behind career wise, plus Brady already has the 3 superbowls and regardless if he breaks Peytons records has had a historic year (mainly look at the TD to INT ratio, which has to be a record)

In 6 years all this will have changed drastically too. No Moss, No Marvin. The lines will evolve, BB and Dungy BOTH could be gone.

You can argue both sides of it. I could go on and on about Peyton (top 10 in almost every stat category) or I could take the Brady argument (3 superbowls w/o superstar receivers, look what he is doing with stud WRs)

This argument isn't even half way being over.

I can argue both sides of this so easily its sick, makes for great history though. :D

I guess what i mean when i say he "deserves" it i am saying the guy has been slammed for being a "system" type QB (honestly i still don't know what this means when the talking heads say this, don't all QBs pay in a "system") that his teams won not because of his leadership on offense, but because of the defense. I really never cared HOW we won, just that we won, but i always believed that Brady was the key to them winning, that and the fact that Manning was always put on a mantle as the "Best" and when you flip the two QBs scenerios Peyton is praised as being "heroic, brave, winning with nobody recievers" while Tom is "lucky" to have great recievers while failing to mention in that same breathe that he was winning SB with teams and injuries greater than what the Colts are facing this year. The way he has played he deserves to break the TD record IMHO, i think it would be a shame (not the end of the world) if he dosen't.

PM got his 49 in 15 games. A few blowouts put him on the bench midway through the third quarter. I guess PM "deserved" a shot at a few more, but because home field was "clinched", he didn't get the opportunity.
Clearly you haven't been watching many Pats games... Brady has been on the bench in many blowouts this year for the 4th quarter. I'm sure their time on the bench in the two years are very comparable.

his chance of setting a new record would increase tremendously if he learned how to throw the ball to other receivers.

I am less certain than you about time on the bench. Besides the Miami game, has TB EVER been pulled in the 3rd qtr this year??

I think the 3rd quarter is too early to pull any QB in any meaningful game (games after everything is clinched do not count)

here is the order of records I would like to see....

1.) Tom Brady TD pass record
2.) Most Players Scored Record (currently tied - c'mon Troy, you can break the record)
3.) Moss TD Receptions record

I am not big on individual records vs wins. But this is a record that I would really like to see Tom get.

What about 19-0? That's #1 on my list.

Check the stats. Tom spreads the wealth, that's his bread and butter.

I agree to an extent. First, regardless of score, I don't think I would ever pull the starter BEFORE halftime. When PM has been pulled, it was generally midway through the 3rd quarter. Might play the first series and sit. I thought they sat PM a bit too quickly in B-More, in which I think he sat after one series in the 3rd.
I think they sat him at the right time. That one series was a 50 something TD pass to Anthony Gonzalez that made it 44-7.

I think the team points scored record is pretty important as well
