Anyone have any problems parking at today's game?
I got there at 9:00 and they wouldnt let us park in the main lot outside the stadium, the lot wasnt even plowed yet. We had to go across route 1 and park in P10, which is probably the worst parking lot I've parked in. It took us 3 hours just to get out of P10 and deal with the route 1 traffic.
Anyone else have any parking issues?
OMFG! My brother left the Hartford area at 8:00 and got into P10 just before noon.
I was stuck plowing snow and wasn't going to go. At 10:00 I made my last round and saw that there was going to be a lull in the storm through the afternoon so I made an executive decision to head up solo and try to hook up with them. I left the Hartford area around 10:30, made it to Rt. 1 by 12:30, got tired of sitting in traffic and parked in the first lot on the left side I came to. It was the one right across from Dunkin Donuts and next two the one with those 2 run down houses on it, about a 1.5 miles from the stadium.
As I was walking I kept seeing the same cars so I was making at least as good time as they were. I saw lots of NH, ME, and VT plates so a lot of folks drove a long way to sit in traffic. I got into my seat with 7 min. left in the 2nd Q.
My brother and I both left after the FG to make it 20-10 figuring it was going to be a nightmare getting out. He in P10 and me a mile and a half walk away. No police directing or stopping traffic, just wait for an opening and you're on your way. Less than 3 minutes for me to get out. I was in Hartford by 6:00 and made one more pass with the plow at my customers' and was home by 7:15 in front of the fireplace, beer in hand, with my kids to watch the day's highlights and settled in for the Giants/Skins game.
My brother got home at 9:00!!!! Same drive, he lives a 1/4 mile away from me.
It really is outrageous that we pay $40 for that privilege. There was no reason for 2 lanes in yesterday either. I can see when snow plowing needs to be done, but the snowfall was over with and Rt. 1 was clear. Kraft must have really pissed off the wrong people!
Word to the wise-the next time the weather is crappy, there are only two lanes into the stadium and you're going to miss out on most or all of your tailgating anyway, park at the first, second or third lot on the left side of Rt. 1. Kraft already has enough of your money and unless you like sitting in traffic for 3 hours to get home, it's not worth the grief and aggravation getting out of a stadium lot that you would think might get some preferential treatment.
