Here to say it...

I thought Maroney played very well and was perfect for the conditions.

There were a couple of times he even bounced outside (I would love to see him do that more often), but even when he ran between tackles, he seemed to be running north and south and with purpose.

I would like to see this out of him for some more important games, but if he can continue to show what he showed yesterday, I'll be eatin' some of that old southern crow & Hoppin' John*!

I would still LOVE to get our hands on McFadden, but if Maroney can deliver like he did on Sunday, he will go a long way to easing my anxiety about our running game!

*Hoppin' John is the Southern United States' version of the rice and beans dish traditional throughout the Caribbean. It consists of crowder peas (black-eyed peas) and rice, often seasoned with a combination of; ham hock or fatback, onions, green peppers, vinegar and spices. In much of the region, eating Hoppin' John on New Year's Day is thought to bring a year filled with luck.

This thread's already been done.

Nobody cares.

I thought the Pats went away from Maroney in the 4th Q just when the Jets were ripe for the picking to give up a long run. You could see Jet d-linemen were worn out and beginning to arm tackle. Maroney was going to break a big gainer. But instead Brady and the O-coordinator's egos got in the way. They were determined to pass, even when it was unecessary. IMO Mangini knew McDaniel would cater to Brady's ego and wouldn't have the cajones to overrule the star QB, despite the bad conditions. They didn't seize the moment and made the game closer than necessary by foolish decision making. It was almost like watching Martz pass himself into extinction in the SB.

Yeah, there was definitely some questionable offensive coordination in that game. The Pats refused to do the short passing they excel at and instead basicvally looked deep (which was dumb because of the conditions) or ran the ball. Luckily Maroney was on his game (told ya, Armen :D) and the Pats pulled through.

I like Maroney, that was fun to see.
He has no fumbles this year, I think?

The D was excellent yesterday,3 pts in four red zone trips,

Pats seem to be able to win any type of game right now.

My only concern,it seemed Brady was forcing it to Moss.
This is way out of character for him,so it just may be my perception.
Lot of drops though,I have to watch it again.

You were correct, sir! :D

As I recall, when Maroney has played or been used for an entire game,he has produced decent numbers and has had an impact. The key word being the entire game.He looked strong yesterday, and we know he can make plays in the passing game.Like to see him shine in the playoffs...

Based on his numbers GOOD would be more correct, GREAT would be 150 yds on those same carries.
