Why are so many Patsfan members spoiled rotten?

I don't get it

The Patriots are 14-0 and did not win easily as expected nor were they dominant against the Jets - BUT WHO CARES?

I think the beating the Pats gave Washington and Buffalo and other teams earlier in the season has gotten into peoples heads like this team is made up of freaking robots and not humans and the spoiled brats expect it every week.

Well I got news for the spoiled goofballs - These guys have played hard all year and deserve more respect,They are 14-0 and yes they are probably a bit more tired as games wear on as this is a long season and it happens and it is justifiable that these things occur and we win nail biters,Remember Nail biters are always better than sound beatings like the early 90s Patriots took.

I bet more than half of these morons in here that post we are pathetic and suck are the same guys who were not even born or very young when New England had the scrap heap we called a team in 1990

Back then I was not only happy we WON A SINGLE GAME but was happy just to be a fan of a team residing in a great part of the U.S. and never did I expect the success we have now - Its incredible and I got news for you,A season for the Patriots like this will likely never be repeated in your lifetime.

So since life is too short to whine and mumble of how bad the team looked,Here's a Newsflash - WE WON!

Someday down the road in years from now when the Patriots become a doormat again you will wish that you could turn back time and go back to 2007 and dwell in the season we all cherish and call the '2007 Patriots' - This is a once in a lifetime team folks....Enjoy it while it lasts,Please - Its only about 7 weeks from ending!

Whether we win or lose the Super Bowl, this team needs to be remembered in a positive note,Not from what the negative game threads show each week during a close game - Think before you post guys,Many posts this week in the game thread were far from acceptible IMO.....

I logged on after the game to threads if our d plays like it did today, Brady did this.. then the talking heads started talking about a blueprint etc. It is all a bunch of crap, to be 14-0, the first time in 35 years is a monumental achievement. People can say what they want, but this cannot be taken away, said over and over again there are no style points in the NFL... just w's and l's.

Was thinking this AM, that is scary, our team has played just about every game in the elements.. when Peyton set his records he played at least half in a weather controlled dome... if Brady breaks it, he will have even more credibility.. but somehow the talking heads will minimize what he and this team have done. It is the current news culture, lots of people talking, but little intelligence.

I was thinking the same thing. I.E. Manning gets half of his stats playing in a dome,no (Talking Head) ever mentions that. And if Bradys breaks Manning's mark, it will be more impressive.

here here ! i have reduced my visits to this site as of the colts game. there was alot of complaining before....but after the close games it has become unbearable. very negative people....one player has an off day and we have threads if he is useless or should be traded.

I think most of the "spoiled" folks started supporting the Patriots and maybe following the NFL in 2001. Also, a lot of them don't know much about football and how hard it is to win in the NFL, even against what they think of as "bad" teams. Look at the Eagles. If you listened to some, it was a disgrace that we let them play us so close. Yesterday, they went and beat a very good Dallas team in Dallas. Ditto for the Redskins. Reading some posts out here, you'd think they were a pick-up team from the corner.

Yes, there are bad teams in the NFL, but not very many. They usually get that way because of a rare combination of bad drafting, bad personnel decisions and bad coaching. The Dolphins are about the only team I'd put in that category this year, despite their win yesterday.

The only thing you say that I disagree with is that the Pats will be "doormats" a few years from now. I have a hard time seeing them sustain their dominance after Brady and Belichick leave, but I think the team will always be competitive. Maybe wishful thinking.

As with everything, there is good and bad. There are folks who are cognizant of past and present Patriots, and the fact what this team is doing is not only unique for the team, it may be unique for the NFL. Some fans are students of the game, others of Fantasy Football looking only at touchdowns and value to their imaginary teams.

While I do think there are relatively bad teams, taking into account coaching, player abilities, and player preparation, the "any given Sunday" factor always applies due to weather, luck and opposing teams flashing brilliance. Every player in the NFL has the ability to play, and as the days of stocking superstars pre-salary cap is in the past there is no supremely talented team.

So I appreciate the ride and am always thinking, especially in moments like yesterday where Brady is diving rather than sliding, that it can all come to an end in a single hit. That is part of what makes this season remarkable.

Everything the original poster said was accurate, but at the same time, human nature is at work here. People tend not to value what comes easy, and with the Patriots winning multiple championships and 80% of their games in the Brady era, people lose track of the value and difficulty of wins. This is not exclusive to Pats fans, 49ers fans of the 80s and 90s were incredibly spoiled. I'm just glad I'm on the side of being smart enough to realize how lucky we are to have a team this great, because once Brady and Belichick are gone, their legends will be an albatross on the franchise.

There are too many Red Sox type fans and I don't think it has anything to do with age. They have the Patriots as their second team to fill the off season void.

Red Sox type fans, from many years of observation, have a culture of second guessers, whiners, and always think they know more than the professionals. After all they did play Little League baseball.

In short, Red Sox type fans are never happy unless they are unhappy about something. This doesn't apply to all Red Sox fans but there are enough of them to put them in their own class.

VERY wishful thinking. Sustained success in the NFL is all about the Quarterback position. The Patriots have been incredibly lucky at that position. They had the great luck of getting the #1 pick in 1993, as Drew Bledsoe was the #3 QB to enter the league in the 1990's, after Brett Favre and Peyton Manning. Then in 2000, the greatest QB of this generation or any generation falls into their lap in the 6th round. Aside from the rare start from Zolak or Secules, the Patriots have only had two starting QB's since 1993, both of them multi-time pro bowlers. Bottom line, finding an excellent starting QB is extremely hard. Look at what the Ravens have been through for their entire history. Or what the Bills and Dolphins have been through after Kelly and Marino left. I think the Patriots will likely end up in the same position post-Brady, if they avoid it, their incredible luck will continue.

All that matters is getting the W. I love that the most crap that anyone can talk right now is about teams that "almost" beat us. That's pretty freaking cool. I think a lot of people get caught up in style points and expect blowouts every week which is silly. Personally, I'm not even getting caught up in the 19-0 hype. I'll look back and reflect on that after the season is over. All that matters is winning that final game. I think it's silly to not enjoy what we have right now. I never thought I'd see people complain about a double-digit win against a division rival in freezing rain. Every week I look forward to the game, and during the game appreciate what is happening. It can all go away you know.

These guys are ecstatic and bursting with joy over their win yesterday. You would think they just won the superbowl or were 14-0 or had clinched the number one seed in the playoffs.

Nope, they are simply enjoying a win.

Over at the Pats board different story. Mopping because it wasn't a blowout, because Brady didn't get a TD, because SF won a game, because the fish won a game, because our running game is not perfect, because TB threw his 6th int all season.

Enjoy ever win.

Yeah, most people here don't know how to enjoy a win anymore I guess. If we win the superbowl, and a negative article is written about it, 90% of the posts will be focused on the negativity rather than the superbowl win. Or if the pats go 16-0, and mercury morris or some other idiot from that team talks about being 1b, or they have to win the superbowl, most of the attention here will be on that rather than the remarkable achievement.

I think it's the story of the "Haves, and Have-nots". the Dolphins season up to yesterdays game was simple, just win 1 game! They have no other thing riding on the remainder of the season. They have clinched the first pick of the draft, They have nothing to worry about regarding playoff seedings and quite honestly when you have been eating poop for 15 weeks 3 day old cold leftover pizza tastes GREAT.

The Pats have all of the opposite things to worry about. keeping guys healthy for the playoffs, concerns with weather during the playoffs, etc etc. I think we all enjoy the wins, it's just the way you enjoy them is different depending on the circumstances of each individual team. The Pats have a lot still going for them.

I'll enjoy it *after* the Pats win the Super Bowl, and will be concerned with various aspects of their play until then.

I cheer when they do well, agonize when they play poorly, root for them at all times, and am happy when they win. "Enjoy", though? No, not really. After Spygate, there is a lot riding on this season and it all boils down to their winning a Super Bowl. There are some big obstacles in the way of that, so I do not feel particularly happy-go-lucky about these wins.
