Team the Pats want no part of in the playoffs...

Well what do you know, another worry wart thread...

Not only are all the other AFC contenders deceptively dangerous, the NFC is a veritable nightmare...

I marvel that we even managed to go 14-0. Against these odds, why do we continue to delude ourselves. Playoffs...playoffs...we'll be lucky to win a game in the playoffs...

We won't win any games the Browns will beat us!!! THE PATS WILL HUMILIATE US BY GOING 16-0 AND LOSING TO THE BROWNS:eek:
Oh the Horror!!!

Every time we beat a tam, they lose their next game. Just because the Steelers were beaten by Jacksonville doesn't make them a juggernaut.

14 - 0 !! Wow!!

Frankly, I really don't care who we play! We have a much better chance of beating them than they us.

I still think that, in the end, the Colts will be our toughest opponent.

It's the Patriot hangover syndrome.

The Jags did look solid for 3.5 quarters against Pitt today.
Garrard is throwing more and generally making good decisions, and that running game is serious.

With that said, the Pats passing game should be able to tear up the Jax defense if it's in sync.

If it's a bad weather game like today, and the offense can't find a rhythm, we could find it tough sailing.

The Jags/Chargers game is going to be a tough, physical battle, and the team that comes out is most likely going to be road weary.
I prefer our chances playing against mistake prone Rivers and whiny LT. They are more likely to self destruct.

They're only on a 2-game winning streak.

I suspect once Brady watches the game films and realizes he might have had a case of tunnel vision in this his first bad weather game with a plethora of fine receivers, he will realize who was open for much of the game.

Next time the snow flies, he will probably be better able to see Faulk, Welker, Stallworth, and Gafney rather han looking downfield at an iffy try for Moss. His mid field receivers were fairly open on many of the Moss failed pass plays.

Since the Chargers currently have a better conference record than the Steelers, Jacksonville would play Pittsburgh and Cleveland would play San Diego if the regular season ended today.

I'd rather play 5 consecutive playoff games against the Jags than 1 against the Colts. The Jags do not worry me in the least.

The Jacksonville Jaguars

The Jags are a team that is building the type of late season momentum common in many Super Bowl teams. They also appear to be built for the wintery conditions of frigid Foxboro. They are perhaps the most physical team in the league spearheaded by a mobile mistake-free quarterback and a two headed monster in the backfield.

Their Dline and LB's are the strength of their defense. Running against them is pretty much a futile task. The pressure they can generate from their front 7 combined with the effect of the weather on our passing game could be the exact recipe for Patriots disaster.

I have to disagree with you on several accounts.

1) Jacksonville lost, arguably, their best D-lineman for the year.
2) Arguably, their best linebacker, Mike Peterson, hasn't been able to play and he may be gone for the year.
3) Garrard is Mobile, but then, so is McNabb, Feely, Romo, etc. What happened?
4) The Jags run game does scare me, but no more than Barber/Jones from Dallas.
5) What is the REAL likelihood of the weather being identical to what went through today? Seriously? Very slim.

The Patriots and Jags appear to be on a collision course for the divisional round of the playoffs. The Jags have the #5 seed which means they'll be matched up with the #4 seed in the Wild Card Round. The only way we manage to avoid Jacksonville in the divisional round is if the #6 seed upsets the #3 seed (which is a strong possibility since #3-#6 are all evenly matched).

Anyhow, I thought I'd point all this out to any of you who think that a 16-0 season means all we have to do is show up. A reminder that the playoffs are going to be a very difficult battlefield to navigate through.

Having said all that...

"Feel the magic...BE THE MAGIC!!!"

In Belichick we trust...

While it does look like we'll end up facing Jacksonville, I am not scared of them. I believe that our O-line can handle their D-line and that our WRs are better than their DBs. And, well, I think that Brady and BB are huge difference makers.

Since the Chargers currently have a better conference record than the Steelers, Jacksonville would play Pittsburgh and Cleveland would play San Diego if the regular season ended today.

Good catch. I had overlooked that, since for so long it seemed the Steelers had a good lock on #3. I wish they would have pushed the Colts harder for the #2 spot, so the Colts would have to play deep into games with starters.

Cleveland's looking better and better now that Lewis is healthy.

I don't know if Jax can play that good of a game again against Pitt, and Ben might be healthier for a rematch. That game's a toss up imho, despite Jax dominating the boxscore and getting the w on the road.

I would say San Diego has the edge on Cleveland, but I still think Rivers can blow a game all by himself. Depends if Cleveland's 'd' can keep them in it long enough to frustrate LT and the boys.

The Patriots always play the big, physical teams very well. I don't really care who the Patriots play in the playoffs. If they play well, it won't matter.

The Chargers? Really?
That's only because I live in so Cal, and there are several boards where I would have to take ENORMOUS amounts of crap from Charger fans if they beat the Pats. I couldn't tolerate living if that happened. :D

I've been saying it for 2 or 3 weeks now, I have the Jags knocking the Pats off in the Divisional round.

And for those saying the Jags were supposed to beat them in 2005, that was 3 years ago. Add Garrard, Jones-Drew, Reggie Newlson a resurgent Reggie Williams and Fred Taylor and things are a little differnet.
Jags are scary no doubt about it. Let's hope they aren't spoilers as well.

You're always wrong about your predictions AquaMoronForever, especially with your pathetic Miami Dolphins.

well, you've RUN OUT OF ANY OTHER TEAMS to base your argument on...may as well use those world killer Jags to pin your pathetic 1-13 hopes on.

Get the heck out of here with that crap. The Pats fear no team.Bring on anybody.I'm glad we had a very nasty sloppy game today. This game was clearly a blessing in disguise. Our team now knows exactly what we've to work on in a bad weather game. The Pats will head into the playoffs with a ton of momentum.

Always or are you just highlighting specifics? Because I'm sitting here looking at some of my commentary pieces and I did say the Jets were a fluke last year, the Lions were frauds at 6-2 this year and that the Dolphins would win this week.

It's okay, I can tell by the name calling you just don't like me but it doesn't bother me. Putting that much effort and anger into disliking someone on a message board is kind of sad. Besides, nothing could upset me today. :)
When you post garbage like this ......................

you lose a ton of credibility.

Best linebacker corp in the NFL? ........... BAHAHAHAHAHAHA!

How has Joey Porter worked out for the Dolphins? ............ BAHAHAHAHAHA!

Dolphins take the division with a 1-13 season? ............. BAHAHAHAHAHAHA!

I'll take the jags seriously when they can win that division, until then.......
