The Jacksonville Jaguars

The Jags are a team that is building the type of late season momentum common in many Super Bowl teams. They also appear to be built for the wintery conditions of frigid Foxboro. They are perhaps the most physical team in the league spearheaded by a mobile mistake-free quarterback and a two headed monster in the backfield.

Their Dline and LB's are the strength of their defense. Running against them is pretty much a futile task. The pressure they can generate from their front 7 combined with the effect of the weather on our passing game could be the exact recipe for Patriots disaster.

The Patriots and Jags appear to be on a collision course for the divisional round of the playoffs. The Jags have the #5 seed which means they'll be matched up with the #4 seed in the Wild Card Round. The only way we manage to avoid Jacksonville in the divisional round is if the #6 seed upsets the #3 seed (which is a strong possibility since #3-#6 are all evenly matched).

Anyhow, I thought I'd point all this out to any of you who think that a 16-0 season means all we have to do is show up. A reminder that the playoffs are going to be a very difficult battlefield to navigate through.

Having said all that...

In Belichick we trust...

people said the Jags would give NE a tough time in the playoffs the other year, and we all know how that turned out.

Yea, this is a different year, and it's a different Jacksonville, but I wouldn't count on the Patriots not wanting a piece of them. If anything, the Patriots would probably like to play them, since they've already beaten the Colts & Steelers.

I think BB would prefer the jack`s too as they are big and run a team our defence does match in size and ability.
Our defence due to its size has issues with small quick guys.......

Thought the same thing today, after they beat up on Pittsburgh, they are big, physical with a good running game.. but we seem to play well against teams like this.. look at what we did to Pitt. We provided the blueprint for them after we played Pittsburgh.

san diego could be a tougher out...

The PATRIOTS are the team noone wants a part of in the playoffs, relax chief, don't let todays manhandling of a fraud Pittsburg team scare you, look at what the Dolts have done to the Jags twice this year..........................

The Jags have had a good running game and a strong front 7 for the past 6 years and we smoke them every time. We just seem to match up well with them. It may be different this year but until they actually come up to the Razor and come out with a W, I won't believe that they can. I hope that I'm right.

I think you maybe right, though I'd still rather play Jax than SD. I also agree that playoffs will be very difficult. And even if we are fortunate enough to advance, Green Bay and Dallas are perfectly capable of beating us. This isn't like last year where the Bears were a weak sister and an easy win for Indy.

san diego could be a tougher out...
I don't like the thought of the Chargers playing the Pats either.

Jags and Browns would be scary matchups. Jags are different from last season and the Browns have "upset" written all over them.

What is wrong with you people.. it's the flavor of the week.. Geez, relax,,

The Jags will be playing the 4th road game in 5 if they make it to Foxboro January 12th. They also could be playing in San Diego (a long trip) or on Sunday (short week). We'll be getting a tired Jaguars squad.

Pittsburgh could be making their 4th straight road trip if they drop the division.

The Jags look like a tough out, and moreso than the others because the Pats haven't played them this season, and the unknown is always more scary.

The playoffs are going to be unbelievable this year in the AFC.

Well what do you know, another worry wart thread...

Not only are all the other AFC contenders deceptively dangerous, the NFC is a veritable nightmare...

I marvel that we even managed to go 14-0. Against these odds, why do we continue to delude ourselves. Playoffs...playoffs...we'll be lucky to win a game in the playoffs...

The PATRIOTS are the team noone wants a part of in the playoffs

Give that man a cigar.

Let other teams worry about us. If we're on our game?....waaaaaaaaay too much for them. I like Jones-Drew though, he done pretty good today showing real power dragging "mighty" Steelers players along with him.

Jax and SD are gonna meet up in the 1st round. We'll probably get the winner of that game. And whoever wins, bring it on!!
