On the telecast it appeared that there was about a 90% absentee rate in the red seats. If you were there and braved the elements, good for you. The rest of you give Gillette it's wine and cheese reputation and should be ashamed.

Re: 300 Level Red Seats a Disgrace

Gee, you got home quick....

No surprise there.

Re: 300 Level Red Seats a Disgrace

What does that mean?

It means that its frigging hypocritical of you to be complaining about the Red Seats being "empty" when you are sitting on your arse at home.

Also, since you missed it, the STADIUM, in general, wasn't full. And since you didn't actually LISTEN to the game, you missed Sims and Nantz talking about how long it took everyone to get to the Stadium because of the weather. MANY people chose to stay home and not risk it.

But, go ahead and be a hypocrit and complain about the Red Seats. Shows just the type of intelligence you bring to the table.

I'm sitting on my arse at home because I'm supporting a family on a single income and I'm not a STH.

For those at the stadium - what would you guess the attendance was in the rest of the stadium compared to the red seats? From the telecast it appeared that red seats were about 10% occupied while the rest of the stadium was about 75%.

Well the red seats are club level and not open to general sale. They're mainly used for corporate purposes. In other words, they aren't 100% "real fans."

My sentiments entirely. I don't live in the US but have lived in parts of England (and in Austria during the winter) where it snows frequently during winter. I know for a fact that I would not have risked my neck trying to get to that game.

As everyone else said, where was the OP for this game? Is he posting from his mobile phone outside Gilette?

Edit: he answered that bit.

Re: 300 Level Red Seats a Disgrace

I'm sitting on my arse at home because I'm supporting a family on a single income and I'm not a STH.

So, your financial situation gives you the right to b!tch and complain about other people wanting to be safe?

For those at the stadium - what would you guess the attendance was in the rest of the stadium compared to the red seats? From the telecast it appeared that red seats were about 10% occupied while the rest of the stadium was about 75%.

You're gauging of %'s is lousy at best. I was watching the same game and there were as many people in the red seats as there were in the upper decks. Unless you looked at half-time where they went inside.

Also, considering how many FEWER seats there are in the "Red Seats" in comparison to the other parts of the stadium, you could be 15% of the people and it would look that much worse.

Again, complaining about the attendance when you are sitting on your arse at home is hypocritical. The crowd was LOUD today. You regularly heard them on the broadcast, unless you had it muted.

Instead of being a whiny brat, how about you just ENJOY the moment? Or are you one of those ignorant people who has to find SOMETHING to complain about so you feel like you've accomplished something in your life?

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I don't believe the occupancy rate of the red seats reflects the attendance rate. Those seats all come with club area access -- i.e., you come to the game and get your choice of watching out in the elements or watching from warmth and shelter. Not a hard choice today for most folks...and no "90% absentee rate."

anyway, overall, the crowd make some noise on this game (imho)

Regardless of the purpose, Pats1, him sitting on his arse at home when there were plenty of tickets available on TicketExchange is hypocritical.

Also, discounting the fact that the commentators were talking about how tough it was to get to the stadium is just ludicrous. The stadium, in general, wasn't full. If you are going to complain about the Red Seats, you need to complain about ALL of the empty seats because there were A LOT.

Exactly. If you are going to complain about them using the facilities they are given, then you need to blame BOB KRAFT for having the Stadium built that way.

So, Kurtinelson, are you REALLY complaining about Bob Kraft building the stadium the way he did? Because, last I looked, he financed it with his own money. Nothing from the State of Massachusetts. And he kept this team in Foxboro, when he could have moved it.

Personally, while I think that the design of the stadium isn't conducive to being as loud as Arrowhead, its a beautiful stadium and one that I've been able to afford to go to twice. And that is with traveling from out of state on a single family income. Also, I think that, since Kraft is the owner, he had it designed as he damn well saw fit.

You can complain all you want about the Red Seats being empty and such, but they pay a LOT of money to Kraft for that right. And its that money that has allowed Kraft to build such things at Patriots Place which will house a Patriots Hall of Fame. And its has allowed Kraft to finance a lot of other projects.

So, complain all you want.. If you aren't there contributing, its hypocritical of you.

From what I saw of the broadcast, it appeared that there were far far fewer in attendance in the red seats (that or they were to lame to come outside from the fidelity club).

You're gauging of %'s is lousy at best. I was watching the same game and there were as many people in the red seats as there were in the upper decks. Unless you looked at half-time where they went inside.

Feel free to give me your estimates

That makes no sense.

The crowd WAS loud today despite all the lame ass red seat wine and cheesers.

Instead of being a whiny brat, how about you just ENJOY the moment? Or are you one of those ignorant people who has to find SOMETHING to complain about so you feel like you've accomplished something in your life?

What crawled up your ass? Do you really want to defend the honor of the majority of the people in the red seats? Do you want me to believe that they are really die-hard fans?

The red seats always are sparsely used though, in any game in any weather. There's a huge lounge/bar area behind the seats where all the corporate types go to "watch the game." That's the problem. It's one of those things that Kraft had to compromise when building the stadium - the revenue from club level seats and their amenities vs. having thousands of seats empty in a prime area of the stadium.

I do blame Bob Kraft for what the Fidelity Club has done to the Gillette. I garauntee that if he had to do it over again, he would have designed the stadium to be louder to have more of a home field advantage.
