1- Handshake ... a useless event if ever there was one. Why do coaches need to shake hands after the game ? What does this prove.

2- Punting ... eliminate it inside the opponents 40 yard line, more excitement.

3- 3rd guy in the booth ... Is any of what this guy says relevant to your enjoyment of the game?

4- Coin Flip ... Home team makes the kickoff in 1st half ... receives in 2nd half.

5- Game Time on field reporting ... much ado about nothing. Have they ever said something you really cared to hear?

Okay now for what is needed

1- Add some time to the tellicast for the interviews. Yeah you can go to ESPN news but sometimes it's not your guys. I love hearing at least the coaches and QB's interviews after the game.

2- Mandatory highlights at halftime ... the less I have to hear some of these blowhards about other games the better ... when I was younger you always watched a ton of highlights at halftime and it was good. Now they condense them way too much to matter.

Okay ... I'll leave some room if anyon else want to add or take away from the lists. :D

1) Eh, does it really matter? I'll agree it doesn't need to be televised so intently though.

2) Teams rarely punt inside the forty anyway, unless it's 4th and long and the conditions are terrible / kicker can't reach from 50+.

3) 100% Agree. See Kornheiser, Tony.

4) Can't do that, some teams prefer to receive first, so you want to punish the home team? If you want to get rid of the coin flip, you could just say, Home Team automatically wins flip.

5) Again, something to fill up time between plays, doesn't affect the game that much.

I agree on both of your additions.

1- Handshake ... a useless event if ever there was one. Why do coaches need to shake hands after the game ? What does this prove. Its a time honored tradition of sportsmanship.

2- Punting ... eliminate it inside the opponents 40 yard line, more excitement. OK, I can see this.

3- 3rd guy in the booth ... Is any of what this guy says relevant to your enjoyment of the game? No problem here.

4- Coin Flip ... Home team makes the kickoff in 1st half ... receives in 2nd half. Is this rally that big of an issue for you?

5- Game Time on field reporting ... much ado about nothing. Have they ever said something you really cared to hear? Yep, agree with you on this one.

1- Add some time to the tellicast for the interviews. Yeah you can go to ESPN news but sometimes it's not your guys. I love hearing at least the coaches and QB's interviews after the game. That's what the local stations are for. If they aren't giving you the info, complain to them.

2- Mandatory highlights at halftime ... the less I have to hear some of these blowhards about other games the better ... when I was younger you always watched a ton of highlights at halftime and it was good. Now they condense them way too much to matter.

I agree with you here. There aren't enough highlights.

For the most part, I agree with you.. Only thing I don't is the handshake, though the MEDIA makes it into a circus. Honestly, I'd like the the NFL to keep the cameras off the field after the game..This does numerous things. First, it allows the coaches to shake hands without being mobbed by idiot camera men like what happened last year. Second, it gives the handshake more meaning to the coaches and less to the media.
