A win sunday puts the Giants in the 5th seed for the playoffs and leaves them with NOTHING to play for in the remaining 2 weeks including the game against the Patriots.

While NE will have nothing to play for,the 16-0 record is the reason why all the starters on the team will be playing on week 16 as usual.

So its pretty much a done deal for 16-0 if NE can keep the upcoming expected 2 wins against far inferior foes because in week 16 you will see all JAGs play (2nd and 3rd stringers) on the Giants which may actually make them a worse team than the Jets or Dolphins are,There is NO way Coughlin risks his star players to play and get injured in a game that means nothing to them unless for some reason he has a chip on his shoulder to want to beat the Pats and ruin the perfect season - I think that would be stupid if he did that and even if he did put his starters in,thats no guarantee as NE is still far superior.

16-0 becomes a near formality with a win sunday against the Jets and a win by the other jersey team, the Giants.

Hello Mercury Morris - The Patriots moving van has been seen in your neighborhood and is coming down the block to move into that empty house next to you in short time ;)

That's taking the easy way out.

Agreed, BMF. If the Pats are at 15-0 and the Giants have clinched as far as they can go, they'll both play this game seriously. For history.
Tha Pats want to be undefeated and the Giants are going to want to be the team that stopped them. They will play this game.

The Pats will, I think the Giants will for the most part...but Burress won't play IMO, he never practices...I could see Strahan not playing.

Disagree. The Giants will have to play the following week. Maybe they'll start the first team to get timing down, but why risk it when you can essentially give them a bye? Can you imagine what the press would do to Coughlin if Eli or Strahan got hurt? Why not do what's best for your team?

I'm not sure being a doormat to the Pats perfect season is the best thing for their team.

Giants can't cover anyone. Our wr's will be running free all night. Brady should have a spectacular game against them. They really struggled against Dallas passing attack in both games this year. They will find NE's even more difficult.

I agree. History or no, the Pats have to play their starters to stay sharp before a 2-week break. The Giants, though, are probably looking at a short week with a road game Saturday night. They ought to take it easy.

I could see the Giants playing 2.5 quarters with primarily the first string, but phasing out the big names pretty quick.
I don't think Coughlin wants to risk Eli's fragile psyche on a bad performance in a meaningless game.
The health of Brandon Jacobs will be an issue.
Burress, as mentioned, has not been at full strength it seems, or he's becoming the Allen Iverson of the NFL. 'Practice... we talkin 'bout practice?'
The Giant's d-line and their pressure is the biggest threat for the Pats.

The last game sucks big time for the Giants. They have a lose-lose situation. They may want a shot to beat the unbeaten but if they play their best players and still lose I can't see them recovering mentally for a road playoff game. Is there any way they could feel confident to win in the playoffs or even the SB? NYG coaches should consider that. NE wins this game either way.
