Dolphins owner H. Wayne Huizenga is in discussions with a pair of real estate developers about selling the team and Dolphin Stadium, a source said Friday.

Stephen M. Ross, chairman and CEO, of the Related Companies, would be the lead investor in a bid that would also include Jorge Perez, founder and chairman of the Related Group, the source said.

"He's become very frustrated. And he realizes the team needs a lot of changes," the source said of Huizenga. "He's considering his alternatives, one of which is selling the team."

Marino retired in 1999. The Miami Dolphins have not been relevant since then. It's probably not a personnel or coaching problem.

First piece of business for them... get a new coach.

I hear Bobby Petrino's getting antsy at Arkansas and might be available!

pockface is a BFI/Waste Management cocaine gangster and he wants to unload his dolfags is a hilarious footnote to this season. Maybe Shula can sell his steakhouses and try and buy the goalposts....Mercury Morris can sell some crack to make the downpayment. What a pathetic chapter in Dolphins history this is.

They should sell the team to a group of investors headed by Aquaboy...although they'd likely only pay Wayne 50 cents on the dollar...

The team is 0-13. Let's pool our Magic Beans and make Wayne an offer.

selling the team after a horrible season is the worst business move the dumbasss could make. at least get to .500 before selling.

Re: Huizenga Bailing Out ... Wants $1 Billion In Scarole.

what's a scarole?
Scarole, actually escarole, but Italians pronounce it "scarole", is a broad leafed green veggie, slightly bitter, with which you can make soup or add to stews. $1 billion worth would be about twelveteen barges full. What would Huizenga do with all that?

...

Starting with a single garbage truck in 1968, he grew Waste Management, Inc. into an entity that would become a Fortune 500 company. Huizenga aggressively purchased independent sanitation engineering companies, and by the time he took the company public in 1972, he had completed the acquisition of 133 small-time haulers. By 1983, he grew Waste Management into the largest waste disposal company in the United States.

Huizenga repeated his business success with Blockbuster Video, opening a handful of stores in 1987, and becoming the country's leading movie rental chain by 1994. Eventually, Huizenga would also build and acquire auto dealerships, from which in 1996 he formed AutoNation, which has become the nation's largest automotive dealer and a Fortune 500 company, and remains his most recent major business venture. Huizenga has been a five-time recipient of Financial World magazine's "CEO of the Year" award, and was the Ernst & Young "2005 World Entrepreneur of the Year".

In late 2004, he sold his ownership share in a group of hotels that included The Hyatt Pier 66 Hotel and Radisson Bahia Mar Hotel & Marina in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, The Boca Raton Resort & Club in Boca Raton, Florida, and several others in Naples, Florida and Arizona.

In 2004 Huizenga purchased the private luxury yacht Aussie Rules from golfer Greg Norman. The yacht cost $77 million and was further modified by Huizenga and now features a heli-pad for a twelve-seat helicopter. Aussie Rules was renamed Floridian and is still considered to be one of the most luxurious and famous such vessels (see List of motor yachts by length). The yacht can accommodate up to twelve guests and may be chartered for around $400,000 per week.[2]

While you type about him on the internet.

Huizenga > You

Yeah, what's "Scarole"?

What is wrong with you that you can't type a thread title without making it nonsensical? WTF? Should you be "scaroled"? I think so.

i had no idea what he was talking about.
