Blood feud isn't over yet - Belichick denies Jets had permission to film

FOXBOROUGH, Mass. -- Bill Belichick told NBCSports.com on Friday that the Jets weren’t given permission to post a second camera in the end zone during last year's playoff game between the clubs.

"I was never asked for permission nor was anyone in our video department asked for permission for a second end zone camera," Belichick said after his morning press conference.

...For some reason I think this one on Sunday
could be one we all remember for a long time...

I have a dream that Goodell realizes how idiotic his singling out the Pats was and reverses his punishments in the offseason.

He'd have to man-up to do that.dont bet on it........:)

"Asked Friday about Belichick's stance that permission hadn't been granted, Jets spokesman Bruce Speight said, "We stand by our earlier comments that we received approval from the Patriots. We will just have to agree to disagree.""
If written permission isn't needed, it's he (Patriots) said against she (Jest) said so we can't win this. However it'll get the Mangina even further on Belichick's bad side - a place I wouldn't want to be.

Belichick is going out of his way to point this out.

If Goodell isn't the hypocritical tool I think he is, he needs to be consistent on this issue and fine the Jets' asses.

If anyone honestly believes BB gave them permission then they have a screw loose. It is so obvious Mangini is lying. And why wouldn't he? They weren't turned in by the Patriots so it's all water under the bridge that is not going to be investigated further. The Patriots are the ones who who become the scapegoat for the whole videotaping thing and the Jets will skate away scot-free as far as the NFL is concerned.

It makes me want to puke, it really does. I want the Pats to KILL the Jets on Sunday and then piss into their dead skulls [/Jack Nicholson].

He's right - just a misunderstanding.
Belichick didn't approve it.
The Pats tv dept. didn't approve it.
But the security guy we tipped 50 for his courtesy ... DID approve it.
So there!

That's certainly a time-honored approach!

The Fisher Polian Committee would orchestrate a palace revolt, because they feel they are the power behind the throne.

Are those the same security people who forced them to quit taping and leave?

Certainly not !
Anyone brandishing a roll of fifties or C-notes on that assignment knows that
you get only who you pay for.

If you want COMPLETE security
you gotta comp the whole team
(the security team in that sector)!

Failure to obey this law of nature shows
either that Patriots' security overall is incorruptible
or that the NY outfit is too cheap to have done it right.

Yeah, but when the dust settles, we are the Pats and they are the Jets. Would you want to trade places?

More likely (still remote) that the Jets lost their first and get fined. This would be even better IMHO.

Have any of our local scribes picked this up??

No. But I want to crush them.

Damn snow. It's like Mother Nature is trying to protect the Jets. I want to see 100 points of our side of the score board.

so why isn't there an investigation now?

The league is clearly showing a bias here.

If this happened and it was the Pats again, Badell would be all over it.

This WHOLE situation is simply unfair. However no one will come to our side and take these fkuckers to task. We are and will be the scapegoat. We have/had/maybe will be treated unfair by a League that wants parity in the worst way.

This is a bullsiht situation. Total bullsiht.

Is it any wonder we as fans and an organization have an attitude. I was never a bitter fan until this year. This year was an assult on our legitimate titles.

I wish we had a punishing running game so we could shove it down everyone's throat.....I'll just have to settle for the O putting up 4-5 TD's / game.

Screw you NFL and the clowns responsible for this mess.

Run it UP BB & Co., Run it up bad.......

I

fwiw...sounds like other teams gave the pats a hard time last year (possibly including the jets)...pats gave jets a hard time in playoffs, jets say lets give it back to them in the opener (though the rule breaking was a bit different) but it spirals out of control and becomes spygate (and i don't think anyone disagrees mangini got more than he wanted).

The Jets have regularly shot tape from both end zones at home and on the road since Mangini's arrival last season. They also give permission to do likewise to any visiting team at Giants Stadium, Mangini said.

“We do it every (game), regardless of playoff (or) preseason, just like we do it every day in practice," Mangini said. “It's not really that big a deal. (Permission) is a pretty common courtesy."

NFL spokesman Greg Aiello agreed with Mangini, telling The Post that shooting from both end zones is common and within league rules.

“There are no restrictions on shooting from both upper end zone positions as long as the opportunity is provided to both teams," Aiello said in an e-mail. “No permission is needed from the league office."
