It seems that Mike Wright had been getting many more reps lately--does anyone have a sense of his play? My take was that it was simply to give the rest of the D-Line more rest, so it sucks if only for that reason. But I wouldn't think this is a huge blow. Anyone?

I consider this to be addition by subtraction. In all honesty, I think LeKevin Smith, his replacement, has a much higher upside and now he'll get the chance to show it.

Yeah, it's really a sad state of affairs that BB needs an injury to see this for himself. You'd think he would have caught on by now, what with watching him and LeKevin practicing everyday.

Well, all's well that ends well. I kind of like Santonio Thomas myself, but Go LeKevin!

LeKevin will show just how valuable he is in a big game this year.

You wait and see.

I heard he's been getting himself ready for his breakout game by eating sand and bench pressing Mack trucks.

You really do think that you know better than Belichick!

LeKevin played a lot in the preseason and is ready to go. We have a five man rotation with LeKevin replacing Wright.

Why would losing a hard working backup who plays two positions and special teams be a plus?

I don't get the people on this board sometimes. LeKevin has been available and if he was better than Wright, he'd take his minutes.

Huh??? This might be the dumbest thing I have heard all week...Does Smith play special teams?? Must be invisible..oh wait the answer is no!!! Really..if Smith was so good, why isn't he on the field ahead of Wright?? Ooops...makes too much sense..I like Smith and hopes he develops..but an addition? I do not think so at all..and I mean that because of Wright's versatility..playings ST, NT...and showing a lot. I HOPE LS develops in the same way...time will tell. But to say addition by subtraction?? NO WAY!!

Wright went from undrafted free agent to a solid rotation guy in this defense, so I doubt BB is happy he went down. BB of course puts the best person on the field, so if these other dudes were better, they would have played.

Did Sam Adams clear waivers? Seems to me that there's a spot for him in a limited role.

Yes, Smith does play ST. Granted, Wright was out at the time, but Smith steamrolled Nugent on Hobbs' little scamper against the JEST.
