say we make it to the superbowl and our offense continues to do what it does and we go up like 37-7.. would we be labeled as running up the score? has a backup qb ever entered a SB cause the team he played for was up by so much?

I'd personally love to set a bunch of Super Bowl records.

What a better way to cap off the best season of all-time? :)

Forgot about Super Bowl 20 already? Steve Fuller was in for Jim McMahon in the 3rd quarter and 3rd string QB Mike Tomczak was in by the 4th.

Chris

SB 20 should be a BANNED topic! :)

Brady wouldn't sit in a super bowl unless he had 2 broken legs.

The oh so classy Steve Young, who thinks the Pats shouldn't be running up the score, must have missed the news that they could do that when they beat up on the Chargers in SB XXIX and he threw for 6 TD's.

I disagree. If the game is close you need to play to win. If you are winning big let the Cassel and the other guy come in for a least one snap each. They get a ring either way, but let them be able to tell their grandchildren they played in the SB.

It really was a shame that NE wasn't up until the very end in 2001, it would have been nice to reward Bledsoe with a drive for all the hard work and sacrifice he made for the team.

You can be sure we'd go well beyond the point differential of the Bears-Patriots Super Bowl blowout. What was that 46 -10? If we had the opportunity to go well beyond that we would.

Let's keep in mind that we'd potentially be playing the Cowboys. While we've got the potential to blow them out like we did last time, everyone here knows they've got a dangerous offense that can score a lot of points quickly.

For that reason, even if we're up 36 points in the 4th quarter I wouldn't let up for a second on offense or defense.
