Pats work out 3
Link|Comments (0) By Mike Reiss, Globe Staff December 13, 2007 09:02 AM
The Patriots had three free agents in for workouts this week:

DE Bobby Hamilton
DT Rashad Moore
TE Stephen Spach

A 13-year veteran, Hamilton played for the Patriots from 2000-2003.

Moore, a four-year veteran, was in training camp with the team this year and has experience as a nose tackle in the 3-4.

A second-year player, Spach has 13 games of NFL experience, with the Eagles in 2005.

The workouts are likely to keep the team's emergency lists fresh.

Those are some interesting workouts. All on the DLine and at TE. Maybe Mike is right about keeping the emergency list fresh, but it still sent alarm bells ringing a little because Watson did get dinged in the game. I didn't see anyone on the D - Line get hurt but you never know when it comes to the Pats.

That's not news until they work out Katzenmoyer or Eugene Chung. ;)

:D

Maybe we're looking to the future regarding TE too with Brady not excactly a youngster.

The Bobby Hamilton one worries me a bit. Maybe Richard Seymour is having a more difficult time recovering from his injury than he's letting on.

Good point.
I love bobby Hamilton always makes a play when the tough gets going.

I think bringing Hamilton in is obvious - he's always been close to Belichick and has inside knowledge of the Jets, having played there the past 3-4 years.

I always felt two guys that would end coaching with Belichick, ala Pepper Johnson, were Bobby Hamilton and Anthony Pleasant.

Me too, and the fact that Seymour and Warren both missed 15-20 plays in the 1st half against the Steelers.....

Hamilton was only with the NYJ in 2006. He went to OAK for 2004, 2005.

And how could he possibly have more knowledge of the NYJ than BB has via his decade with Mangini?

That was my 1st reaction. Bobby is OLD for a DE. Big Sey's side of the line is having problems with running teams this season. AD hasn't been stellar in that regard either. Could just be for shadow roster insurance update as there's lots of football to be played and bad stuff can happen.

Bobby Hamilton. Wow, "old school" in every way. Still kinda cool to see.

What happened to Rivers at TE? I don't recall.

Whoops. My bad. The old memory isn't what it used to be.

Why do I have a vision of him spending multiple years in a Jets uniform?

Not "more", just additional...

And I really don't feel like arguing with you today, okay, so if you're in an antogonistic mood, just leave me the fark alone.

FOXBOROUGH -- Tight end Stephen Spach, who worked out for the Patriots earlier this week, was present in the locker room today. It looks like he's joined the team, either on the practice squad or active roster, and has been given jersey No. 82.

We'll pass along word when it becomes official.

Man I hope this not due to an injury to K. Brady or Watson. :(

I don't recall us ever arguing. Disagreeing perhaps, but not arguing.

Regardless, I have you on the short list of individuals that I am cautious about responding to.

Godspeed.

But did you call the guy that can help you stop being such a douchebag? Because that should be your first call.
