A couple of years ago around this time, I remember having a game against the Jests that BB treated like a game against the practice squad, and we basically just ran the ball on every play. I think Heath Evans, of all peole, was carrying the load. We probably threw the ball 10 times in the whole game. By the way, we won by a very comfortable margin (well, except for a trash time TD I seem to recall that made the score closer than the game indicated).
Am I the only one who feels BB is going to take a similar approach in at least one of our next two games, be it against the Jests or Phins?
After all:
A) He's done it before (against the Jets), and it worked (with Heath Evans!).
B) This team is SO much better than the Jets and Dolphins that they can actually pull that off. We're not exactly facing the Ravens' and Steelers' run defense.
C) What better opportunity to work out the kinks and fine tune the running game for the playoffs than against these 2 teams? What better chance to boost Maroney's confidence and give the O'line a chance to practice playing with a mean streak?
Besides, beating the Jests that way would be more insulting than winning by 30.
Does anybody else remember that game? Anyone think we'll pull that again in one of our remaining games?
