BB always says that a player isn't in game shape if they are only practicing and not playing in the game, because of the speed of the actual game versus practice. This along with most backs needing multiple carries before they can get comfortable in the game, makes me concerned if we do need to call on Laurence.
i read something in an article that said in college Laurence needed 10 carries before he was comfortable. I have heard this previously from other backs, the last one being Dillon.
It appears that it is like warming up the car motor, and how much better it runs when it is warmed up. What little football I played in school found this to be true, but that is so far removed from the pros it not even funny. I also don't claim to have any coaching experience. I have just watched games on television, like alot of you, and base my speculation on that.

Another Maroney thread, #256
Just what we needed, a seperate thread

do you think he could have 100 yds vs the jets and dolphins?

PatsNutMe was looking for 100 this week so I thought I would contribute. I have had this question for quite a while, and thought it was legitimate. So here you go

A healthy RB for the playoffs outweighs that effect. Just needs to get hit in the nose good once and he'll be all right.

I'm concerned about NEM, er NSA...this threads been here for almost an hour and he hasn't posted his refreshing views in it yet!

Maroney has done nothing since the Bengals game last year

Maroney has already had major surgery

Maroney was highly ineffective in the playoffs last year

Maroney was dinged up all the time last year

Maroney has been dinged all the time this year

Maroney has missed several games this year ( not tough)

Maroney has came out of several games early due to getting dinged up on minimal carries.

Belichick does not have confidence in Maroney

Maroney has missed a good amount of time over the last 31 games for a young "stud" rb

Maroney cannot run for tough yards

Maroney cannot make something out of nothing like the good backs always do

Maroney's blocking has been sub par this year

Maroney has been benched several times due to poor play

Maroney told the media the pats knew his running style when they drafted him when asked about his upright running style. He then asked why he should change?

Maroney has a long run of 19 yards in the most prolific O ever to step on a NFL field

Maroney has yet to get into the secondary and take one to the house

Maroney has been sub par recieving the ball

Maroney had baby diapers put in his locker by the coaching staff

Maroney has shown poor vision time in and time out

Maroney goes down on the first hit

Maroney still dances

No reason to call out Maroney. None
