Jets coach Eric Mangini proved he learned well as a Bill Belichick disciple, parrying pretty much every question about Cameragate with a Belichickian, “It’s a league matter.” He reiterated that he considers Belichick a mentor and appreciates everything he’s done, but stopped short of calling him a friend, as he once did with regularity. Asked if he felt his feelings towards Belichick were reciprocated, he said, “You’ll have to talk to Bill.”

Mangini did allow himself to speculate on what the atmosphere will be like in Foxboro on Sunday.

“I’m sure it will be as warm as it always is for us when we head up there,” he said. “They have passionate fans … I’m sure we’ll appreciate their passion.”

If you watched the Jets game yesterday, you'd know Mangini has far from learned well from Belichick. Mangini seems to have learned more from his predecessor, Herm Edwards. Mangini's late game play calling was attrocious. I mean I can't put to words how badly he mismanaged the end of the game.

Sorry, but the Pats players have the utmost confidence in Belichick that whatever he decides to do in a game puts them in the best chance of winning. Jets players have to think Mangini single handily lost them a game yesterday. Mangini has learned nothing other than trivial stuff from Belichick.

I just saw the game as our was ending but I didn't understand a damn thing he was doing. Kicking a field goal down by more than 3, than not trying an onsides kick later...very confusing.

I don't feel bad for him at all. Belichick was punished for what he did. He isn't a victim. But Mangini is far from an innocent in this.

Mangini only got a head coaching job because of Belichick. He had done nothing in his career to warrant being a head coach other than being a Belichick disciple. He also benefitted from whatever Belichick did including filming other people's sidelines. Also, many reports had one of the Jets staffs getting ejected from the sidelines from the Pats game for the same thing.

Also, Mangini could have handled this situation much better. He was a copy boy when Belichick took him under his wing and made him what he was today. Mangini repaid him by setting him up. If anyone didn't think Mangini knew that someone from the Pats was going to be videotaping signals from that game are kidding himself. He could have handled it quietly, but he wanted the league involved. After this whole thing exploded, the Jets then leaked to Andrea Kreamer the next night that they were going to file allegations to the league that the Pats were jamming their signals. Not only were these allegations baseless, they were just leaked to fuel the fire.

Mangini was also the guy recruiting staff and players on the plane home from a loss from Denver. He also stole a laptop with sensitive scouting and playbook information which he admitted to having by mistake when he said he showed Pennington the Pats' scouting report on him.

Say what you will about Belichick. He definitely has his character flaws. But Mangini is a slimly human being who will screw anyone over to get ahead. I hope he never gets another job in the NFL again. He is nothing without Belichick holding his hand anyway.
