i was in sec 121 row 9 and there was a steeler fan behind me. everyone was giving him ****. The play where moss dropped it, threw it back to brady and then TD to gaffney, a pats fan 5 rows up jumped down the seats and punched him in the head. he was rip **** saying all this **** about pats fans. finally the police came and kicked the guy out...crazy out there for opposing fans

good, glad to see we might be getting our Schaeffer/Sullivan Stadium swagger back

That is a funny story but I kind of feel bad for the guy that got suckered

This was absolutely STUPID to post B2M!!

Not cool to hit a guy when he is not looking.

Yeah, there's no need for it. Let the players do the hitting. I like swagger and verbal abuse in the course of the game, but anything more is lame.

Not cool to act like Eagles fans.

That's ridiculous. Fans who fight in the stands should get a life and a perspective. The guy that punched the Steeler fan should get thrown in jail.

just thought i would share a story...geez ever herd the saying if you have nothing nice to say dont say it at all? :bricks:

B2M...the incident you witnessed was childish, stupid and violent. None of these things are worth discussing in my opinion. It is never good for anyone to get beat up whether a Patriot or a Steeler fan.

What is the point of you posting this? What do you want to discuss about it?

That's lame, but like any other fanbase, we have our share of meatheads. Not something I like to see.

Question, B2M: Since you saw the whole thing, did you tell the police what the circumstances were and who threw the punch? Or did you laugh as the victim was hauled away?

Its okay to give other fans a hard time about losing or winning or whatever... but getting into a fight over it is worthless and stupid.

Really man, we're from Boston, not Pittsburgh. That's not cool in a city known for culture, education and prosperity. Everything Pittsburgh isn't.

agreed. pretty soon it'll be like the Meadowlands...

I'm sure that the Pats 'fan' lost his season tix if he was a ST holder. He should be arrested for the totally unwarranted conduct.

My only Pats fight experience occured on a trip to Miami in 2000. I sat 2 rows below a buddy who was giving the business to the Phins fans around us (we were LOSING, but WTF?). A much younger but drunken Phins fan finally took exception and came up several rows to throw a punch at my buddy who was siting on the end of the row. Bad idea. Very bad idea as my friend was a past era hockey 'enforcer' who REALLY knew how to use his fists. Anyhow, the fight breaks out so I stood up climbed over the spectators and got to the asile. Picked out the two biggest 20 something Phins fans and said, "I need you two to help break this up." Fortunately they acquiesed. I ended up between the two protagonists, never got hit but my fav Pats T-shirt was a bloddy mess. The Phins fans really helped. The kid was a total bloody mess and my friend had nary a scratch or bruise. Finally the cops come asking who did what. The Miami fans all pointed out the kid who attacked and exonerated my friend but the cops wanted to know the other party and said they HAD to throw all involved out. As they're walking them both out (no arrest) the kid sucker punches at my buddy. Got himself arrested with my friend just tossed out. I had not noticed my blood soaked shirt and coulda been tossed as well. Point being we were VERY fortunate that the good people of Miami surrounding us were so rational and cool under fire.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but all the guy did was relate a story.

What's with all of the morality lessons today?

Not directed at him, but at the situation.

The question that WAS directed at him, however, was, since he had such a good recollection of what happened, did he tell the police these very details before they tossed out the victim and let the "slugger hero" stay?

You made a value judgment when you asked him if he helped out the police. You just did so again when you said "slugger hero" (which you pulled out of thin air for reasons known only to you) which doesn't come close to anything B2M said. In fact, he didn't state an opinion other than it was "crazy for opposing fans."

In the last hour, I've now learned that I shouldn't a) have an opinion about anyone I don't personally know, and b) relate any story in which there may be some objectionable behavior, even if I don't condone said behavior.

Any more rules, and I'll have to start writing them down.

That nitwit that punched that Steeler fan will most certainly lose his tix for the season. If he bought them off someone, then they will lose them. I know for a fact they review camera tapes and will take action for those:singing: instances. I remember an instance where some "fans" decided to relieve themselves behind some of the concessions stands and a few other fans decided that was dissing the house and proceeded to ah, explain the error of their ways and held court right then and there. Well short version was thanks and give me your tickets to the pizzee and a warning to the pummelers.
