Where will it be available online? I hear that it will only be on the NFL network.

with the squeelers out of the way we are witnessing history.

Look into SOPcast.

Why is it that ONLY 1% of cable service subscribers have it? Luckily, I AM in that 1%. I'll also be in Ohio for New Year's, and my relatives TOO have the NFLN. So I'll get to watch the game.

I subscribe to get the NFL Network. It is always the first and last channel I browse through.

But anyways, for all comcast subscribers you can get the NFL Network and then cancel the next week. It is a not a long term subscription like with most satellite providers.

sopcast and tvuplayer.

d/l both and check them out in the next couple weeks.

yeah but how reliable will they(Sopcast) be? If anything I rather just go to a quiet bar and watch it.

I thought that the NFLN had to offer it to a local affiliates for coverage, if the game was sold out???

Wasn't that part of the agreement, so as not to artificially create a local black out????

WTF????

Just use SOPcast or go to a bar or friend that has NFL network.

I am pretty sure local stations will get the game if it sells out.

for the GB vs. DAL game they said NFLN Subscribers + Dallas Area and GB Area are the only people in the country who can watch the game. Why would it be any different for this one?

Sopcast is pretty reliable if you have a good connection and the channel is good. I used it to watch the Dallas/Green Bay game and that worked pretty well for me. It's about a minute lag but it's better than nothing.

What PWES said. I have a connection that runs at about 5.5 Meg on average and it plays OK on that. I don't know how well sopcast does on 1 or 2 meg.

The game will be on a local network in NE too.

It will be on local...BUT..that means just the local WCVB stations...(and NFLB)...meaning that if one lives in RI, West MA, NH and that cable station carries WCVB...it will NOT be on. It was explained on EEI last week and it all seemed so phony and dumb..I mean if a cable station has an agreement with WCVB..why does the NFL have a right to block it??? Do NOT understand...

These 2 softwares are a good alternative to people who can't watch the saturday game .

Yes, that was the deal, but the NFLN then redefined local affiliate as one station per team. So if you are in the city of boston or manhattan you can watch the game. Ironically, 5 miles from Foxoboro is not local.

Look, I just signed up for the Comcast Sports Entertainment Package this morning.

It's $5 per month.

No obligations. The Rep told me I could cancel it next week, no prob.

You'll pay more to nurse one beer and for the gas to go to a bar.

Unless you have a 32 inch computer or larger, you won't get a better picture for the game on Sopcast.

Plus, isn't the NFLN showing a full Patriot week this week with all the 2007 games?

Why do we have this thread every week?

My suggestion, either someone should sticky a thread with these links or members should save the link to one of these site into their favorites folder.

It will be Broadcast in the Boston area on WCVB Channel 5.

I watched the Dallas - Green Bay game on the NFL network's site. It wasn't bad.
