He must have gotten his ass kicked in the locker room afterwards

Smith said they weren’t reported accurately.

“If I had been quoted right, it wouldn’t have come out the way it did,” he said.

What a douchebag...this misquote business is fine in a print interview but he was on camera...Now that you've joined the ranks of Freddie Mitchell, here's what's in store for you Anthony Smith as the newest member of the Fred Ex Club...

Football career after Philadelphia
After being released from the Eagles on May 5, 2005, Mitchell then signed with the Kansas City Chiefs, who subsequently released him September 3, 2005[citation needed]. On August 6, 2006 Mitchell worked out for the Dallas Cowboys, Dallas did not make a contract offer[citation needed]. Mitchell tried out for the Cleveland Browns on Wednesday, October 11, 2006[citation needed]. Most recently, Mitchell worked out for the Toronto Argonauts of the CFL on February 11, 2007[4]. According to sports blog Deadspin on November 27, 2006, Mitchell recently served as a substitute teacher at Mishawaka High School in Mishawaka, Indiana[5]. (Wikipedia)

I actually found what he said to be pretty harmless, I'm glad he said it though because I think it definitely fired up the pats tonight.

Hehe. . . .that's fabulous! He really said that?!

This is the same sort of funny I had when T.O. said that he was misquoted in his autobiography.

I agree with you, I don't know how you can be misquoted on camera when they interview you and let you have your say, and if it was true he could have said something before the game...he is a liar.:D

AhahahahAHHA! Someone from the boston media needs to interview him again.. lol

How can you be misquoted when they SHOWED what you said in your interview? It wasn't taken out of context or anything, you actually said those exact words. "I guarentee we win. Yeah, if we go out there and play our game, I guarentee we win." There ain't no miscommunication there. You said exactly what you meant.

I have something for you Fred-Ex!

(Hands over the pink slip!)

Yeah, couldn't see this coming....

Hey Anthony Smith? Do you know what a "Code Red" is from the movie "A Few Good Men?"

If not I have a feeling you're about to find out tonight at the team hotel.

Hotel?

He'll find out on the plane ride home ....... in the baggage compartment!

Yeah, you don't get much funnier than that!

The real beauty of this play is who got burnt on it.

Actually, I thought he got burnt worse on the Randy Moss long bomb TD. You can almost excuse him for biting on the flea flicker since Moss had to pass across the field to get the ball to Brady and everyone had already commited to going up to stop Moss.

On the Moss TD though, he got burnt on biting on the fake hand off to Maroney leaving no one over the top to pick up Moss on the TD pass.

Sorry. Safeties are taught NEVER to run upfield when a receiver is running past them downfield.

And the scary thing is, Smith isn't THAT much dumber than the other IQ cadets we have in our secondary.

Poor Anthony - he got toasted, roasted and broasted. You can't blame him for trying to backpedal (as he did for most of the game ;))

I'm pretty sure Brady was more pissed with the comments about them playing the best receivers already and the pats receivers being "just" good than he was with him guaranteeing a win.

He's a young pup. Albeit a stupid young pup. Again, I thank Anthony for the public service he performed for the fans of New England. He'll not make that mistake ever again. At this point, he can say what he wants, as he's learning the hard way.

Good point. During the postgame conference, Brady had a Milloy-like angry pause when the Cincinnati receivers thing was mentioned.

As we were being buried, the camera panned to Brady and Moss yucking it up on the sideline, Brady reenacting the flea-flicker and Smith's "Oh ****" reaction.

If this horse-whipping makes Smith a better football play, it might have almost been worth it.

Nah. It's still ****ed up.
