this is so outthere, u DONT have to tell me, i know...
but, last yr i wanted us to draft willis, patrick willis that is...the rookie who is now destined to win defensive rookie of the yr awards...SF took him, at like 8 or 10 or something like that...i still like him...

he can obviously play....so....

do we trade our 1st round pick this yr, BACK to SF, for Willis?????

and maybe SF will also add a 2nd rounder? i know how out of this world that is, but say it happened, would u liek it?

Re: a trade with SF

ya this is out there.

Re: a trade with SF

this would be awesome but no way its happening

Re: a trade with SF

Not that any team would trade a proven commodity top ten draft pick ROY candidate for the right to roll the dice again, but when a player signs a big deal his bonus money that is paid up front and spread over the life of the deal hits the cap of the trading team if they trade him. Not sure how much signing bonus Willis got, as a lot of 2007 draftees opted for guarantees instead and his deal guarantees $12M. But at 5 years $16.6M he is a bargain for them through 2011, so they will have him plus the Colts 1st rounder to keep building (although with Alex Smith behind center that may be a colossal waste of time...).

So besides you don't trade ROY draftees, you don't trade rookies who signed top 10 deals - or FA who signed big second contracts - for at least a couple or three seasons...because of the dead money cap ramafications.

Re: a trade with SF

I'm not understanding why a team would trade a proven 1st year player for a potential bust at #2-5.

If it were the Dolphins I'd get it - they don't like having ANY of their draft picks pan out. But San Francisco is actually trying.

Re: a trade with SF

ppl, the object here is not show me how unlikely this is too happen (or how stupid), i already know that....

its whether u would like it or not...

Re: a trade with SF

Whatever u say ....NEM....

Please forgive me if I'm wrong...
lets see the evidence...
1) Hi post count
2) arrogant signature
3) Wacky Idea
4) pointless argument
5) Nem is that you? did I snoop you out that easy???

what they should do is make them give up willis plus their 2009 #1 pick, then next year trade that pick back for whoever they pick in '08 w/this pick.

I want to give our first round pick to the Jets for Curtis Martin.

Willis plus SF #2 for Pats' #1 and Tom Brady. SF would jump at

this deal and the Pats would gain a lot of salary cap room.

Yeah, I'd like it. I'd also like for Minnesota to give us Adrian Peterson for one of our third round picks. That won't happen either.

Urlacher for Izzo, plus the Bears #1.

Stallworth to Dallas, in exchange for the rights to Herschel Walker.

We then turn around and trade Herschel Walker to Minnesota in exchange for Adrian Petersen and Johan Santana.

Kyle Eckel to Dallas for Marion Barber.

i think we should trade willie andrews to New Orleans for the rights of Billie Joe Hobert and Billie Joe Tolliver. Then we round up this blockbuster by trading the 2 Billies to Seattle for Nate Burleson.

owww, this board defenetely is not lacking in irony now is it?

so much for just a question...u CAN have fun on these boards ppl, its allowed...

I'm pretty sure everybody in this thread is having fun.
