there are just too many cons. it would be nice, but there is no way it ever happens.

Absolutely no more old farts on this defense. Our problem now is all the old-timers wearing down and breaking down in the 4th quarter. It's what cost us the conference title last year in Indy.

At this point he would look better at DE than Seymour.
I'm not giving up on big Sey just yet but Jason would be a great addition.
Just not sure how he'd fair in a 3-4.
Or if BB would reconfigure the D for him.

Yes, we need more skill players like Lossman. The Patriots will always acquire veterans for the right price. Jason Taylor would be a perfect fit. Great athlete, smart, and you would think would take a cut to play with N.E.

Having no clue what Taylor's contract situation is and whether he has any control over future movement, I find it hard, even in its most dire season, that Miami would ever consider moving Taylor to the Pats. While I'd love to see it happen, I'd be shocked if it did.

We know BB would be able to find a place in the lineup for him.

My guess: Whatever shot we had at Taylor went out the window the moment that Miami became embarrassed nationally over the Welker deal.

Trading Taylor to us would make such an ugly arrangement in the division and with their fans that I cannot even hope for it.

They might trade him if he really wants out. Either that or cut him. Those salaries are so high a rebuilding team would have no need for him. Why waste that much money on a 34 year old guy.

NE may be able to pick him up for nothing.

What he would want in salary though...

I'd rather have him at OLB for 5M / year than Colvin.

JT most likely will need to get his salary reduced next year regardless if he stays in Miami or whatever team he could end up on.

I wouldn't mind at all to have him in a Pats uniform next year.

James Sanders got beat for 32 yards on Indys final drive in the conference title game. Tully Banta Cain also got used for 11 yards earlier in that drive. The Patriots had Chad Scott and Sanders playing the secondary.The final 3 plays of that drive were runs by Addai totaling 11 yards against a relatively young defensive front.Not buying the old veterans" cost the Patriots the game". The fact that the team was ravaged by the flu that week was a definite contributor to the overall performance of the defense.

The Ravens game last week saw the Patriots defense STOP the Ravens THREE CONSECUTIVE TIMES in the 4th quarter on 3 and outs.Seems the "old" Patriot defense was stronger at the end than at any other point in the game.

You may be right. On the other hand, if the Patriots can offer Miami more then anyone else is willing (a high third rounder), then they might trade him.
I do not see him sticking around there, why would he want to?

I don't care about age, I'd love to have Jason Taylor playing here for a season or two. The guy still has got a great motor.

Miami would make the deal with a division rival too because they're obviously rebuilding, but I think their asking price would be too high. Talk was they were asking for a 1st rounder which means they'd probably settle for a 2nd. Anything more than a 3rd for Taylor would be hard to swallow.

Taylor has his money, I really think he'd do what it takes to get a ring such as going to a team with a shot at the SB for a vet minimum. Doesn't mean that team is the Patriots though.

I agree. And it'll be interesting if Miami does try and move him, what his value on the market would be, and if NE would get in the mix if it meant only giving up a 3rd or a 4th(probably no more than a 4th I would expect), then get him to rework his deal to the min. It probably will be with another team, but Im sure Taylor wouldnt mind coming on board, and after what the brass did this past offseason, I wont put anything past them.
