talk show host from pitt apparently on BB said

"Belichick's obviously just a clown, he's the greatest football coach ever, but he's just a pair of clown shoes, what a miserable, terrible looking, just sad-sack of a human being"

i guess D&C must have brought him on since they would love anything or anyone who bashes BB.

It's true, and it's why the Pats will never have a truly great legacy. Sure, they dominated the league for years on end, but Belichick looked like a grouch doing it, and the latter just flat-out outweighs the former.

You gotta love people. When confronted with a person who loves their job intensely, and wholeheartedly, and is probably the greatest of his time and what he does, if not the greatest of all time, they worry about his media presence and attire.
Our country truly is full of idiots.

And Tony Dungy looks like someone stepped on his face. What does it have to do with anything? God I hate the media.

PS...don't believe what they say about global warming either ;)

In the good old days, you could punch a guy in the nose for that and nobody would bat an eye. Now you get sued. Somehow that doesn't seem like progress!

I bet Mark Madden dresses real nice.......but I never heard of him.

You guys only have to hear from him this week. He bashes the Steelers every week.

This guy gets paid for saying insightfull things like Bill Belichick dresses like a clown, what a sad sack miserable looking person? I think he looks pretty good in that hoody with the sleeves he cut off himself. He doesn't lok like all those assembly line coaches wearing the same old NFL team workout attire with the brand name all over it. And he looks especialy good in that hoody holding the Lombardy Trophy thats what this is all about.

Actually it's WCW since he was a color commentator for them

20 years from now people are going to look back at Belichick as this curmudgeonly guy, but with loads of respect and even affection. His accomplishments will definitely outweigh the negative rep he's got going on now.

By the way, how did Belichick gain his reputation as being smug and arrogant? That's one thing I can never understand. He always bends over backward to say the right things about his opponent, and he's not flashy or flamboyant at all. It's just another media creation.

Belichick is a great human-being. Somebody should show him the quotes from Jim Brown.

Definitely the media. He doesn't play their game. 90% of the questions they ask are stupid, and he has no patience for it. I don't blame him.

reading his bio on wikipedia

definitely a person ESPN would hire.

From the Wikidepia page:

[After the heart attack] He has openly expressed on his radio show that he fears that he may not be alive when Sidney Crosby breaks Wayne Gretzky's scoring records.

Um... I don't think any of us will be alive to see that happen. Sidney Crosby is great, but let's not get ahead of ourselves.

No. He gets his reputation for being smug and arrogant because he IS.
Don't get me wrong I love BB. How could I not as a long time Pats fan.
But if you read "Patriots Reign" by Michael Holly, you find clear evidence of it.
I remember reading specifically about the nasty comments he made about the Bills offensive line before a game against them.
Beside that I also read where he went down to a Florida college to get some insight into their program. The coach of the team was excited of course to have BB as a guest. He had questions to ask BB but all BB would say is at New england, we win championships that's all we do.
That was the words of the coach which were in various publications and but I can't say it's true that BB really said that.

But even if he did, that's the way he is and that is the way the Pats are so good.

Face it guys. He's not a sweetheart of a guy but he's an amazing football coach and we are lucky to have him.

Yes, all that wife-banging, handshake-spurning, revenge-seeking, camera-planting, disingenuous, arrogant-as-f@%& behavior endears him to the NFL fraternity and makes him one of the great humanitarians of our time.
