..to be universally reviled and hated. Here's a thread from one of the Steelers Sh*T pits that will clue you in.

http://forums.steelersfever.com/showthread.php?t=21934

As for me? It kinda pisses me off. But actually I was getting kinda soft what with all the respectful Steelers fans posting here. Time to get back to reality.

Everyone hates us and that's just dandy by me...

I think it's hilarious. A lot of pettiness. What it comes down to (despite what fans will say) is jealousy. They hate the Patriots because they've achieved more than their teams.

If Gary Kubiak was found to be taping signals on the sidelines, would the country take up the cause and get on their moral horse to fight the crusade against the big, bad, "cheating" Texans?

Browns fans rooting for Steelers fans? Any Browns fan that would be rooting for the Steelers right now doesn't know enough about the sport to mean anything to me (and if you need me to explain why, the same goes for you :D ).

Let them hate us.

I bet if you ask any of them if their team could be in our shoes, what do you think they'd say?

To be honest, as a professional team, this should be your goal. You should want your team to become so good that everyone hates them, everyone fears them, and everyone knows who you are. I love it. I know we will never have a Patriots team like this assembled maybe ever. Not with one of the best coaches/QB combos in the league. Who knows, 10 to 20 years from now, we may have one of the worst teams in the league. No one will pity us. No one will fear us. No one will care, except us. I say enjoy these moments, this is what franchises dream of being able to do!

Oderint, dum metuant.

Which means: Let them hate us, as long as they fear us. :rocker:

Its generally weak to pull for a hated rival against another team. But when you get your ass handed to you, thats the result. Embarassing, Browns fan, whoever that knucklehead is. Funny how the football world is rooting for the Steelers to take down the mighty Pats. Id say thats a little more pressure than they really need. Theyre in over their head as it is.

To date: The Patriots have not achieved more than the Pittsburgh Steelers.

I agree with you here, but c'mon, it's a little common sense why no one would be upset. What makes you more mad: A guy who steals when he has the money to buy the item, or a homeless guy stealing bread? The Patriots were accused of cheating and winning. The Texans just aren't there yet.

Normally I would agree, but it would appear the whole division (AFCN) wants to see the Steelers win. There's plenty of folks in that crowd who know tons about FB. In fact, it would appear that about 70% of NFL fans either think the Steelers will win or at least hope they will.

People, for what ever reason, hate the winning teams. It's just the way it is. I'll bet you're a long time Yankee hater. Add to that the perception of Pats fans (I don't agree entirely with it, but it's there) as well as that of the percieved arrogance of BB and this is where we are.

Been tooling around on that site. It's such comedy that the only thing these fans have to hang their hat on is week 1 and spygate. Thats it, whenever a pats fan speaks up, thats all they got... It's really kind of sad.

They tell us to "deal with it" but we never bring up the event, it's always the other teams fans, so who still has to "deal with it"? haha

I've rooted for hated division rivals before, to help the pats, like to get a better playoff seed or something like that. But in those cases I wasn't really rooting for that team as much as I was rooting against the other team.

That being said after reading that Stealers thread I've finally figured out how to get rich, just open up a pay only "special needs" center in Stealer Nation. The sheer number of customers with IQs less than a gerbal would put me on a quick road to easy street. Hey, all that money they make working in the Steel mills should go somewhere right? :D

Here's my advice, taken from an old friend:

Use your aggressive feelings boys, let the hate FLOW through you.

I now know what it must be like to be a Yankee fan.

I am okay with it.

Feels good. The Patriots are the greatest team of all time. And that's why they are hated.

Feels GREAT!! Embrace the hate because the haters would LOVE to be sitting where we are. :rocker:

This decade, the Patriots have most assuredly accomplished more than the twice also-ran Steelers (need I add who those Steelers lost to). You get my point.

 What's your point? Yeah, the success is the reason for the hatred. Is that not what I've been saying?

The hope part of that highly suspect 70% outweighs the "think" crowd. Short memories combined with hatred has led to so many people "thinking" (read "hoping") the Patriots lose.

I'm a long time Yankee hater because they play in the same division as my team (the Devil Rays... :D Just kidding). Sure, their success makes me cringe, but I dislike them because of team loyalties.

They are the greatest team of this decade no doubt. I'm a pats fan and I don't feel like they are the greatest of all time.

They are the greatest of the salary cap and free agency era as well. I'm still not on board about "best of all time".

I might start agreeing with that come a 19-0 season, but I'd rather have 18-1 if the SB was a guarantee.

Man are they bitter! You have to love them praising Bart Scott for what he did. However, if it was not for him and we were not kicking from their 35, it most likely would not have a been a touchback in that wind. Chances are they then get the ball further out than the 20, and from what I saw another 3 yards and that final hail mary is in the endzone. Oh and surprising that they have not mentioned the non call on that play when AS got tackled by the receiver.

To sum it up, if your mad because your team is not as good as the Pats, then reduce yourself to hating us.

They are at the top in this era of team building. The Steelers use the draft almost exclusively and I am a believer in that system. The Pats though, or more accurately BB, can build a good team in what most consider an unorthadox manner through free agency with so-called "washed up" players. He's done an incredible job....and I hate them. :D

Tom Brady was obviously a diamond in the rough.

You didn't say "this decade." I would have agreed with you if you had.
