Vincent (Chicago): The past few weeks, teams have been effectively jamming Randy Moss at the line of scrimmage. Shouldn't the Pats put him in motion more often to get hiim a free release?

Mortensen: Good question. By the way, he had a lot of problems Monday night. Some of it was because he had trouble getting off the jam. He complained about being held. But I am hearing from more people -- not just Ron Jaworski -- that some of his old habits of takings plays off is very real.

# A special look at the Bill Belichick news conference: Why is it unique from how NFL coaches' deal with the media. Greg Garber reports.
More BB bashing.

you would think that Mortenson would know enough about football to look at the plays himself and make up his mind about whether Moss is "taking plays off." If not, why is he even commenting?

BB deals w the media differently.....yeah he hates em and shows it!!!

if there were zero conferences and interviews, he would be happiest:D

if they are fair they will show he answers football questions were enthusiastically. its when irrelevant questions like when someone will practice or what do u think of bulletin board material are asked..he shuts down.

"Batch (Boston): Do you think Tedy Bruschi is on his back nine? He just can't seem to meet lead blockers at the hole the way he used to.

Mortensen: That has been my impression for the past year or so, but I just got off the phone with a GM who watched the Ravens-Pats tape and he was surprised that the game tape gave a different impression: Bruschi and Junior Seau played well versus the Ravens."

Why watch tape when you can get anonymous GM's to do your thinking and research for you...

If they ask him a football question, he answers.. if they ask him a question about a ref's call, players injury of the comments of another player he gets pissed off and plays with the press.. I do not blame him.. this is another silly NFL rule, which he hates, right along with wearing official NFL Adidas Wear on the sideline.

Why think for yourself and develop your own opinion, when the network will just feed it to you. IMO, most of what these folks say is scripted....

The word "expert" is thrown around very loosly by the mediots these days. Anybody in a nice jacket with a microphone can be an "expert."

Only Tom Jackson of the "the team hates their coach" quote picks the Steelers over the Pats. This clown's agenda against the Pats is so obvious it's not even funny.

Dunno about Seau, whom I remember being undressed by Willis on a long run but I did watch Bruschi a bit against the Ravens and I thought he played better than he had done all year.

-philw (hopes this doesn't make me an idiot like Mort)

I said in an earlier thread, before any picks were in that the 3 stooges; Golic, Schlereth and Hoge would all pick the Steelers...as they always pick against the Pats. I forgot about Tom "I am a complete idiot" Jackson...
