He's been a healthy scratch the last two games. He's been reportedly participating fully in practice, but has somehow managed to slip behind Baker and Merriweather on the depth chart.

Did he not take losing the starting spot well?

Pats sending him a message in his contract year

He's stamped his ticket to the Jets (punishment for sub-par play).

The question is whether he is really healthy. He did miss a practice last week with a groin injury. I wondering if he is slow to recover. We do need him out there because he is one of our best coverage safeties on the team. Maybe he is in the doghouse.

From what I hear, Geno doesn't work all that hard - film or weight room - and it was a concern coming out of college that has been cemented in the NFL. This being the case, I sure wish we could've put him on IR instead of someone else.

That said, I hope he turns it around. From the looks of our secondary lately, we could use any help we can get.

The guy makes plays, hits hard, and is hardly ever out of position. Nobody fears James Sanders or Rashad Baker in the middle of the field when Rodney is at the line of scrimmage.

Nice to have you visit the site Eugene.

He's grooming Meriweather to be his replacement when Geno's twilight years begin after this season.

Seriously, if the Colts play the Patriots in the playoffs they may be screwed if they don't play Wilson. Marvin Harrison will be running the in route every play, and Hobbs can't stop Wayne, and even if he does we know they always throw a pass interference flag on him.

I'm a Pats fan, but that's what I think will happen.

i think its just the competition for the spot... sanders is making plays and he took the spot from wilson...

seriously.... it's all speculation he is on the doghouse.

we all thought merriweather was behind baker and eddie jackson and then he's playing a ton this game.

it's all speculation.

by the way who does artrell hawkins play for now? i just can't understand why we kept baker instead of hawkins and you can't tell me special teams.

I'd agree .... in the playoffs you want as many quality starters on the bench for depth and you can't tell me you want baker in there instead of wilson... we saw how that turned out last year.

they might just be taking wilson along real slow like they did with moss in the preseason.

Are we certain he's not being stashed due to a minor injury the team would like to heal before the end of the season and beginning of the playoffs? Having his experience and the depth he provides is going to be critical for the playoffs. It's unlikely they'd let him occupy a roster spot if he is as bad as some say. That's not consistent with BB's methods.

I have a strong memory that Artrell was recently arrested (something about being drunk in his car and having an altercation at a gas station). He is, so far as I know, not playing football.

he seemed to be a good guy when he was here

You are correct on both counts.

they would be in violation of nfl rules BB isnt doing tat with spygate this year

Ahem, as I was saying about Eugene Wilson, he makes plays and is in the right place almost all of the time. 1 INT for a TD and a huge fumble recovery today. Give me a clipboard and put me on the sidelines.
