Schefter was on EEI this morning, as usual had some interesting tidbits. Didn't hear the entire interview - but one part that was definitely interesting is that he hypothesized to the Pats game as potentially being the "last straw" for Bilick when the front office looks back at the season. Not in terms of losing the game, but in terms of the irrational/wild actions of the players on the team, the meltdown at the end, the childish (and totally dorky) blowing kisses at Rodney Harrison, etc.

I agree, it was a complete disgrace, and it starts at the top. Really gives you even more respect for Belichick that he's able to keep his players from ever doing anything remotely in this category.

Other interesting bits:

- Reiterated Welker was getting mauled all game and refs weren't calling it
- Agreed that there were no bad calls and that the Ravens had nothing to complain about
- He knew about the 10 players on D for the Skins first play early in the week...somehow Gibbs didn't

Started talking about Asante as I was getting to work, so missed that part, if anybody heard, please share.

Thanks for the info.

He also said if the Dolphins go O-fer Cameron is one and done.

What a disaster that franchise is.

Also Mike Golic the other day talked about how his last year playing in Miami, 1992, they were 9-2 and couldn't sell out the stadium and how Miami is NOT a good sports town. He brought up how home games especially vs the AFC East were often like neutral site games.

I found this very interesting since our most prevalent Dolphins troll would have you believe that Dolphins fans are so passionate and Pats fans have only been on the bandwagon the last 7 years.

Meanwhile the last 15 years the Patriots have the best record of any franchise and the Dolphins are a .500 team.

9-2 and you have Marino and you cannot sell out. How flipping sad is that?

Too bad WaterBoy had a little hissey fit and got himself banned. His Cam predictions, Ginn Family predictions and Beck worship has really, really backfired. And then to accuse the Pats fans of being bandwagon fans. All those empty seats in Miami, not now especially but back then. The only Miami lphins ticket that's hard to get is the Pats game. Too funny.

He said Assante will be the defacto #1 guy to hit FA because a couple others that would be just ahead of him will get tagged but he can't and that he's going to cash in to the tune of $23M+

Cameron is gone whether they lose the rest of their games or not.

Billick just signed a new contract (4 years, I believe), and I don't think this will be his last season. I don't see the team's owner bearing 3 years of Billick's salary with a new coach in place.

Maybe I'm wrong, but wasn't the @MIA game basically a home game for the Pats? [I mean, they had, "Let's go Red Sox!" chants going. . . . ]

Being very fond of the Marlins team down here.. I can guarantee you that Miami sucks as a sportstown. When I went to the games at Dolphins Stadium you'd be lucky to get 400 people to show up for a team that has won two titles in 11 years. The owners of the franchises here aren't great either.

Ask him if he ever traipsed into a stadium on a 0ºF night and sat on aluminum seats for three hours, and found out that 30% of your body heat can go out through your a**, not your head, or if he tried to park around Fenway Park or Harvard Stadium and walk in the snow to a game. Ask him if the Dolphins could have survived coaches like Rush, Mazur, McPherson and Rust. Ask him what the Dolphins are going to do now.

I spend Jan-Feb in the 'Tamper arear'. Mention football playoffs and get, "The Bucs aren't in it" or better yet "Don't like Tom Brady 'cause he wins too much."

My buddy is a Bucs fan and says the same thing. Must be a Tamper thing.

LOL, the Pats got Marty Schottenheimer fired last year and now the might get Billick canned? Wow!

So you think Harrison mouthing off to a coach is O.K. then?
Personally, I think Harrison should be fined by the team and league for his unprofessional actions. I'm a Patriot's fan through and through mind you, and I laughed my ass off at Billick's 'come back'. But no player should ever feel that they have the balls or the right to mouth off to a coach. Ever. No matter what team they play for.

He's playing under a different name these days. Check PatriotsPride's signature I cannot remember the name.

Are you serious?

1) Yes, I do think it's OK for Harrison to mouth off, he's on the field, he's playing the game, his body is full of adrenaline and other things that might lead to trash talking. Billick's sitting on a freezing sideline listening to a headset, the guy is not jacked up, he's a grown man old enough to be Rodney Harrison's father, no, he should not respond to Rodney.
2) We don't know what Rodney said or even who he said it to. He might've just been telling Billick that his strategy of holding every single Patriots player on both sides of the ball was about to unravel, in which case, I would very much support Rodney's right to say so.
3) The blowing kisses was the single geekiest, nerdiest, lamest thing Billick could've done. It was flat out dumb. If it was your idea of a good comeback, I fear for what you find entertaining or funny.

Mike Cameron was a disastrous choice. I hope the Phins don't fire him. He was awful, awful at Indiana. I have no idea how that guy landed a HC position.

If the Phins were smart, they would fire him tomorrow. The only thing is, you might as well keep him until you get the ship righted from the very top.

Good points here. Why isn't this unprofessional conduct the biggest story of the week?!! He won't be fired since that's the type of team they run there in Baltimore. All a bunch of punks including their coach. I am so happy the Pats beat that team of losers.

How can we accept players mouthing off to opposing coaches via the media (Tomlinson calling out BB last year and again this year) as being 'competitive' or 'ok' but not when a player from a distance shows his emotions on the field towards a coach?

So, I don't mean to hijack, but what did Aqua do to finally get banned. In the words of Dice Clay, this kid was "like masturbating with a cheese grater ... slightly amusing, but mostly painful."
