I don't post here much, but I like to check out the posts to see what is going on with the team, news, updates, etc. All season I've been wondering what compels opposing teams fans to come on this board and promote their team. This week is Pittsburgh so I know there are Steeler fans on this board right now. I'd like to hear from a Steelers fan, what it is that makes them go thru the process of coming to this board. Do you search for "patriots message boards?"

And also, what is the point of promoting your team. Every weak, it is "The fill in team name, is gona kick the patriots all over the field this week. We're coming in there to beat up the Patriots." The Steelers players aren't coming on this board to get motivation. I just don't get it, why not discuss the STEELERS with OTHER STEELERS FAN????

Every team in the league has internet fans who do the same thing.

They do it to get a rise out of people so maybe they'll make threads like these and give them attention.

You're right...I'm not 100% certain...but I've never read a post by ANY member here bragging about going to a Steeler board...I certainly wouldn't...I could care less...enjoy trolling, we know you'll all be gone by Sunday night anyway

I'll come back and be nice if Im not banned. I have a life long hatred for the Pats. The cheating scandal only reinforced it.

i have a life long hatred of the stealers. the steroid scandal and players dying only reinforced it. that, and all stealer bars look like the star wars bar. guys with mullets and girls with mustaches.

As the season goes on the Pats are more beatable each week. The Pats are obviously showing signs of fatigue, the biggest reason for the Pats struggles the last couple of weeks. Brady even said he hoped BB would be easier on them this week. When a team plays the Pats, they look at it as if it's their Superbowl. So on top of being fatigued, being undefeated, and having no running game, if the Pats lost to the Steelers this week it wouldn't be that big a deal. It doesn't say that the Steelers are better. I believe the Steelers already lost to the Jets, Cards, and Broncos..........................sorry.........LMAO. So we already know no matter what happens on Sunday the Pats are and always will be better than the coton curtain. A loss on Sunday would probably help the Pats more than hurt them in the long run. We will no longer have to deal with this undefeated thing, BB can rest our players, and have us ready for the playoffs. So Steelers fans get all excited for your Superbowl on Sunday because it's the only one you will be in this year. The season continues, and your inconsistent team probably won't get past the first round of the playoffs.

Patriots Hate

Are the Patriots hated now the way the Cowboys were in the 90s? Are they hated as much as the Yankees have been over the last decade? It seems everyone who is not a fan of the Patriots just HATES this team, would love to see them go down. They hate BB, they don't like Moss or Harrison, they are mad that Brady is so good, and are frustrated about the teams sucess. It is not just divison rivals, anymore. Not just Colts, Steelers, or NY fans. The hate is everywhere. I have to say I enjoy it, it is fun to be the target. It seems everyone was rooting for this team in 2001, and now everyone is rooting against them. They were once the great underdog story that everyone was excited about. They were the David agaisnt Giliath. Now everyone thinks they are the big bully of the NFL. I would have to say I would much rather have it this way, then be laughed at for rooting a loser like it used to be.

FYI...using the term "Nation" originated in New England. It all started years back with Red Sox Nation. Now every team in the country thinks it's their original terminology.

Already making excuses are ya? But you're right, at this time the Patriots have been the much better team. No debating it. The question is, who's the better team from here on out? You guys look like the 2005 Indy Colts who started 13-0 with Peyton on a tear to take the record. Thanks to the Eagles and Ravens his pace is more impressive than Brady's by the way. Nobody gave us a chance to beat them in their house in the playoffs. yet it happened. Be careful about crowning yourselves champs before the the final Super Bowl whistle has been blown. Other teams have learned the hard way, and youre no better. The 05 Colts were a better team top to bottom.

You're right if you're referring to football players. But you should be smart enough to know football FANS can & should say anything they want to. If I want to say we're going to be the super bowl champions this year, what's wrong with that? It's not like it's going to affect the outcome.

Let's remember, we're just fans and what we say means next to nothing in regards to the outcome of any game. Now some fans are a little foolish and actually believe in bad luck and jinxing and all that. But that's not really the reflection of a knowledgeable football fan.

As fans, we don't need to take it one game at a time or focus on just our next opponent for fear we'll lose...Thank God for that!

Just like we're gonna have victory #13 this Sunday...I guarantee it

yes we are hated. most ppl will admit to admiring the excellence (esp after the buffalo game). but nobody likes us

and its our own fault. besides winning:
1. getting caught blatantly breaking the rules that the league sent a memo on -- known as spygate. (i dont like to say cheating cause that i will reserve for something actually important). and
2. running up the score for 5 weeks straight. and
3. exposing BB to the national media more!

all three factors have not helped our broad appeal.
do we care? NO!! not as long as we win.
we are all Al Davis now!!!!
