Haven't seen much of Ben this year, but I always felt he was overrated. Loved it when Vrabes layed him out after the Rodney Harrison pick-6 in the AFC championship game a few years ago. Besides....didn't one of their DB's guarantee a victory? Nice going. Piss one the best teams of all time off.

Not to get personal but whats the deal with the Steelers and mental midgets for QBs? I mean come on, Bradshaw, Slash, and now Worthlessberger? That team is so easy to dislike, they always had loud-mouthed idiots(bettis , portis, that guy who just guaranteed a win) whiny girls( Heidi Ward) and dummies(big ben, bradshaw,slash). Plus every week you have to hear Franken-Toupee(Hoge) tell you how great they are. Also their fans....nuff said.

Ben is certainly not on Tom's level yet, but their accomplishments based on the points in their individual careers are somewhat comparable.

Ben set all kinds of NFL records as a rookie (his 13-0 record as a rookie starter will NEVER be broken) and he won a Super Bowl in his second year. Tom was unheard of until his second year and won the SB that year. Tom's SB performance was much more impressive than Ben's, but remember, Ben was younger in his second year than Tom was in his second. Not to mention that Ben actually had the highest single post season rating for any QB ever in '05 until his poor SB performance.

And as far as the bottom line - winning - Tom is the only active QB with a higher winning % than Ben.

Tom missed the playoffs his third year, the year after winning the SB, just as Ben did. Then Tom went on to win two more in a row.

Perhaps Ben will win this year and next, and elevate himself to Tom's level.

Tom has accomplished a lot more as of now, but he also has 4 years of experience on Ben.

We'll see how their careers continue to go.

We'll learn a lot this Sunday.

Big Ben is a good quarterback. He reminds me of Lennie in Steinbeck's Of Mice And Men.

Count me in as a Pats fan who thinks BR is a terrific QB. As a fan who does not get to see him play regularly, it can be hard to know exactly what he is doing so well from week to week, since he is inconsistent about some things that the typical "good qb" does well; yet, he is tough and resourceful and gutsy, and is he, simply, a winner. He can certainly screw up from game to game, and he has done some immature things--but I'd like to have him on the Patriots, if we didn't have Brady. He doesn't have Tom's golden glow--but who cares? and moreover, that works so well for Pittsburgh, it's a match made in heaven.

Let it be known that the Steelers will most certainly not be able to win this game with the running game. They will have to play great defense, but, even more than that, Ben will have to take the offense on his back and lead the team to victory. Which he will do.

Yeah, you heard me right. Pittsburgh wins this one, and Ben will be the primary reason. The offensive line hasn't been very kind to Ben this year, though he has more often than not bailed them out by making great plays. And I expect this game to be no different.

This will be the game that Ben finally proves to the world that he is a top 3 QB in the league. In fact, I can almost hear Phil Simms now come the end of the game.

"And here we see the two best quarterbacks in the NFL shaking hands, getting ready for another meeting in January. Big Ben comes out on top in this one."

I will most certainly revive this thread after the game.

Let's hope he keeps his helmet on during the game. We all know he hates to wear his helmet.

The others, I would agree. Romo seems to have something special, and an electric arm, despite his immense immaturity (odd for his age...). Ben is a top-five QB in the league...

35 sacks of Rodentburger. Thst doesnt seem like a great OL, especially when playing the easiest schedule in NFL this yr

That is exactly the point. It is a bad OL. And he's probably broken at least 15-20 would be sacks this season on top of the times that he's actually been sacked.

Ben owes Palmer head to head. Palmer is a mechanical QB who needs his throwning motion to be the same every time for him to be accurate. This is why he crumbles when pressured. Ben can throw on the run and improvise. That alone makes him superior.
