Haven't heard it mentioned, but the kid keeps getting better. His pick and run was a game saver-a 6 and possibly a 10 point turnaround. And I don't know how many times he and Rodney bailed out the D with stops in the secondary and at the los.

yeah i think he's awesome...

I remember a few seasons ago when he caught a tipped ball and returned it for a TD and although it was one of those plays where he was in the right place at the right time... i hoped that he would someday turn into a solid starter

Looks like he's a solid starter now.

Sanders is a keeper! I like the kid more and more every week. The kid makes it happen. Forced fumble two weeks ago at Buffalo, INT last night. The kid is coming on strong!

Ouch.. I think Sanders is not much more than a filler.. YES.. He caught an poorly thrown ball.. But from my POV, he's not a great tackler or great in open space..

Part of our problem on defense, specifically in the backfield, is the play of the safties.. To many times we are seeing missed tackles or tackles down the field after the initial hit.

But since Wilson is hurt and BM is a rookie, there is not much we can do at this point..

Question for you, dumdum--who drafted Sanders and in what round?

I am really liking Sanders. I think he will be a terrific player. He has been really good and is constantly improving.

I don't know what games you're watching. Sanders is one of the best tacklers on the defense and, at this point, is probably the best safety.

Where's DWToys when you need him?

Question #2 dum-dum: how many all purpose yards did Maroney pile up last night?

Good point. I have wondered for a long time why they don't throw the ball to Maroney. I figured he must have bad hands or something because Maroney in space is better than Maroney running between the tackles. It's a no brainer. Speaking of no-brainers, why the hell don't the Pats throw more screens and short passes? Does anybody have an answer for this?

I have to agree with this. It seems like every time I see a tackle in the secondary lately, its Sanders.

Harrison is a better tackler than Sanders.. hands down..
And after watching McGahee run well last night, especially thru to the second level.. I think this is a major need that will need to be addressed in the offseason.. Along with the LB

I don't think that's necessarily true. Although, even if it is, Sanders is better in coverage and, I feel, the best safety we currently have overall.

And so, because McGahee was able to run into the second level, this is somehow an indictment of the safeties? That makes no sense.

LOL! He had an ok game overall. However, should pats fans that questioned this guy's ability to run the ball be encouraged by his pedestrian 13 carry, 44 yard performance? Uh, no. And you are calling me dum-dum? LOL! Get lost kid.

Don't get mad, dum-dum; just answer the question: how many all-purpose yards did Maroney pile up last night?

Here is my reasoning why the safties are weak and Harrison is better than Sanders in space and tackling..

If Sanders was better in coverage, why did BB have Harrison mark Dallas Clark in the Indy game??
Clark had 2 catches for 15 yards in that game.. One of his lowest totals of the year..

In 2002-03, year after the pats won the superbowl, the pats finished 9-7. And their run defense was HORRIBLE.. 1st thing BB did was bring in new SS and FS.. The following two years were had some of the best run stopping.. Now you have one player that much older and a second injured all the time..

And lastly, if Sanders is or better than Harrison, why did BB draft a safety in the 1st round? Even though Brandon hasn't shown much right now, why do you think BB drafted him?

Aren't there enough Maroney threads? Why did you guys hijack a Sanders discussion?

I couldn't disagree more. James Sanders is really good and getting better all the time. He's tough, he's a good tackler, his instincts are improving, and he's not afraid to make the calls in the secondary (when Rodney was serving his suspension)!

Wouldn't surprise me if he made the Pro Bowl in a few years.

Sanders and Harrison are not fast enough for free safety hence they got merriweather. Also, against a TE who weights 245 LB you want someone who can match them physically Harrison at 225 for example. You cannot put him on a WR or put a 180 DB on a TE or a 270lb LB

I do not what game scully watches as he blames sanders running around in circle with no goals and some how the ball being thrown to him. I hope things were so easy. .

What we need is a FS who is fast ,hopefully meriweather will develop into one.
