OK, I’ve got to get some thoughts out after that one…….I want someone to tell me the undefeated season is no big deal, because if you think about it, that game really didn’t mean that much. It’s a very big deal.

Going to start with a question about the run defense which I’m sure will be the big topic of conversation. Colvin was missed I assume, as Thomas went outside? Is the Seymour Warren Wilfork trio not performing? I have to confess it’s difficult for me to tell watching the game, other than the fact the Pats were getting gashed. More knowledgeable football minds than mine are welcome.

I think I came around more tonight than ever before that the Pats should do as much as they possibly can to sign Samuel. It’s important to have some elite players, and he is one. Speaking of Samuel, if the Ravens had scored on that last play, his mugging would have haunted me to my grave.

Faulk is a smart, tough player, but he almost cost the Pats the game by not getting that last yard on the final series. I know he’s thinking of conserving the clock, but time wasn’t really the Pats enemy there. Whew.

Not to harp on the telecast, but Shula sitting there for such a long time in the second half was just appalling. Five minutes in the first half? Fine. What they did? No way. Also, I know more casual fans maybe enjoy it, but the yuck yuck yuck crap in the second half nearly drove me up to a tower with a rifle.

Gaffney is a keeper. And what’s with acting like that catch was close? It wasn’t.

Refs again seemed pretty shady to me, but the holding call at the end made up for a lot. Bottom line, nobody’s going to say boo if they don’t call it, and the Pats would have a loss.

I don’t think enough is made about how the nature of the media—cable, the Internet, etc. etc. has changed the dynamics of trying to go undefeated like the Pats are now. It’s absolutely relentless, teams are getting sky high against them, they throw so many games into nighttime and/or later slots, and on and on. The Dolphins didn’t have to deal with this, they just didn’t.

Hey, you know what? I’m glad the Pats won. :) Get past the Steelers and they’ve got this thing, for the regular season at least.

I can't believe ravens fans are complaining about the refs..

The Pats/Colts game was broadcasted in my area-I was surprised by how many bad calls went the Pats' way-but they still won.

Thomas played inside to start the game

It's bizarre. I honestly don't know what they think WASN'T a penalty. That hold on Watson? It was a mugging. Every time they show the replay on various ESPN shows, the announcers are like, "Well...he held him the whole route." It's not even close.

I mentioned in another thread; the frustation is understandable considering how close they were in putting away the game and the intensity with which they played; when cooler heads prevail and they watch the tape, they will be kicking themselves for allowing that stupid timeout, two cases of allowing the Pats to get the fourth and down. But yeah, I think every one of them went too far on tape complaining that the refs stole the game from them.

Heh, god damn it's 2:00am.

Was going to call it a night after watching the ESPN post-game crying, but just had to get on here, and a hour has already gone by.

Seymour is definitely NOT 100%.. If he's even 60%, I'd be amazed. Jarvis Green was playing better against the run than Seymour... And that is saying something.

Wilfork was ending up with 3 guys on him and Warren was doubled.. Not much you can do when its 5 on 2.

The 4-3 sucks. Sey, Wilfork, Warren and Green may be great players all but when we make that 4 man line it's like we're conditioned to give up a run or not hit the QB. Let the linebackers do the work.

Are you Seymour's doctor?

How do you know Seymour is not 100%?,If Seymour was not 100% I think BB would be more opt to let Green play more or until he was 100% since Green was utterly sensational in the first half of the season and could not worsen the front 3 IMO.

I didn't see Seymour limping around gingerly or looking the least bit gimpy or injured or slow in any way.

Do you think its possible that he may not be the same dominating player he was earlier in the decade?

I think his best days have passed, but time will tell in another year when people can drop the injury talk and hes 'hopefully' healthy after a long offseason as you think hes is not right now...And thats IF he does not get injured again which I would not bet on.

It is obvious that Seymour had major knee surgery in the off-season. It takes a full year for a player to come back from that. The first season back is always tentative as the player learns to trust a rebuilt knee.

As an overall observation, I think the Pats team is just worn out right now. Three prime time games in three weeks will do that. Remember, their opponents in these games are playing the prime time game of the year. It's almost impossible for the Pats to match the intensity.

The undefeated season is no big deal. Having home field advantage through the AFC playoffs is paramount!!!!!!! Every game is important until home field is clinched.

The contention I've heard from most Ravens fans and from one of their players is that making that call at that time in the game means the referees are playing too big a role in deciding the outcome.

Which is silly because nobody would argue that defenders outright tackling players shouldn't be flagged just because it happens in the end of the game. Which means it becomes subjective when to call it and when not to call it which is just dumb.

Thank God for Ryan that's all I'll say. It kinda sucks to have one of our wins be directly the result of a bad timeout that flat out cost the Ravens the game but I'll take it. 12-0.

I was able to see on a couple of replays that there were what looked like 3 guys on Wilfork. Yeah, that's tough to deal with.

What kind of participation did Green have? He got dinged on the last play against Buffalo 3 weeks ago, but has been at practice, so assume he's OK.....if Seymour is struggling, wonder if BB will up Green's snaps.

no he's not Seymour's doctor, but i am

he is 74.6% and we are working on stabilizing the anterior cruchit muscles and rehabilitating the anterior ligament flux capacitor

it's a very intricite process and takes weeks to recover from SO DON'T TELL ME HOW TO DO MY GODAMN BUSINESS.

Last week we thought it was more important to rehabilitate the posterior binomial cruchit ligament, but that led to posterior Agamemnon bursitis which could just lead to other problems which i can't explain because it will confuse the ever loving **** out of all of you.

he's 74.6% and just deal with it, ok?

LOL at 74.6%. That was actually funny.
I dunno the Pats got gashed against the run in the 3rd quarter, but the mad scientists got to work and fixed it in time for the 4th. The D was stout and held the line when they needed to. In particular, that interception of Boller really turned the game around.

What's with those sports updates? Does anyone give a flying @#$#@ that Andy Pettite returned to the Yankees. Like I want to see half a screen of football so I can get updated on old irrelevant news. If you have to show it, cut in on any of the dozen booth segments.

Amen. ESPN has their heads shoved so far up MLB's A.S.S that they think it is a good idea to phuck with our viewing of an ACTUAL football game in progress just to show some stupid irrelevant offseason baseball news!

I ask you... would ESPN EVER stick a baseball game in a reubics cube during a critical pitching series in order to inform the viewers that Guss Ferrote just got resigned?

Remember that scene in Office Space were they take the phucking printer out into a field and smash it into a gazillion pieces and they have to hold the one dude back as if he is Bart Scott going after a ref? That's what I would like to do to ESPN. They F'kn suck!
