Ohio State #1 and Kansas #2? Eww, sounds dicey.
Ohio State had a very easy schedule, and Kansas got beat up convincingly by Mizzou late in the season.

Right now I'm looking at the top ranked BCS teams and not liking any of them a whole lot. And I don't think there's any way Hawaii will be considered for the Championship game even if they are undefeated. That just leaves a lot of questions. Should a 2 loss team like LSU be considered for the #2 position now? (Even though they got beat by Arkansas and McFadden late in the year?)

Oklahoma blowing out Mizzou and Pitt upsetting WVU have left a very murky, and rather undesireable situation for the National Championship game.
Can we finally start serious talks of a Bowl Playoff system?

At least LSU lost in triple OT.

OSU will be number 1 with either LSU or OU at #2.

They absolutely need a playoff system after this season.

Who should be, I'd say Ohio State and LSU as LSU's two losses were both in OT.

Who are the best two teams ? I'd say LSU and USC.

It really should be two 2 loss teams battling it out this year, because I have no confidence in OSU, Kansas, and Hawaii as potential champions. If I had my pick I'd say LSU-Oklahoma, but the only team I'm sure I want in the game is LSU. They've lost twice, but they required triple overtime to beat both those times, and they've beaten a bunch of good opponents.

That I can agree on. The question is will college football do the responsible thing? I'm sure there's a way they can make money AND implement a sensible playoff system.

I'd say do a Final 8. Half of the teams should be the BCS ranked 1-4, and the other 4 can be "invited" by the respective hosting bowl. Then have those 8 teams battle it out elimination style. Why couldn't this work? It only adds 2 more games to the season. The Semifinals and the Finals.

Of course, LSU also won games in OT, and got a few ridiculous refs calls to beat Auburn, so I'm not sure we can make those excuses for their losses.

I actually think OSU is a good team because of their QB. He's very good. I don't like anyone from the Big 12, I think it's a weak conference.

The two teams I wouldn't want to face right now are USC and Georgia. and Hawaii.

They could surprise somebody.

I'm betting it'll be Georgia and Ohio State. I don't think Georgia should be there, but the computers like them. I'd love to see USC in the title game with the way they have played recently.

OSU vs. LSU

Two 2 loss teams should be in the national championship game? Hmmm. I think there's a lot of teams that can make an argument they deserve to be in the Championship game this year. Which is why a bowl playoff system would be so much better.

Can anyone explain to me what this "Plus-1 modification" I keep hearing about is?

Anyways, call me nuts but I think any undefeated, ranked teams should be involved, so I'd say OSU v. Hawaii - even though I think LSU, Georgia, OU are more talented

Maybe that would give more incentive to teams to play Hawaii when they are offering millions of dollars for to get decent games on the island

It has to be OSU and LSU, as crazy as it sounds.

Look at the other teams, and why they just cannot be in it:

Georgia: Didn't make it to their conference championship game, computer part of BCS system supposedly has changed to not allow something like this to happen like it previously did (unless its overwhelming that they should be there). On ther other hand, LSU WON the SEC championship.

Virginia Tech: Got killed by LSU

Kansas: Lost to Mizzou (convincingly) who proceeded to lose to OU (convincingly). No chance.

USC: Lost two big games early and didn't play a tough enough team (UCLA) in its conference championship to warrant a move from #8 I think they were all the way to #2.

Hawaii?: Not sure why people are even rumbling this... not a prayer.

You're forgetting OU. If their QB doesn't get KO'd in the first 5 minutes against Texas Tech, they're 11-1, and there's no controversy. (Although, you can't use injuries as an excuse - ask USC).

Oklahoma is the most talented team in the country. Speed everywhere, a huge offensive line, and an accurate passer. I would love to see them against LSU.

OSU played one halfway decent team all year, and lost. Their only "big" win is against a Michigan team that lost to a 1-AA team.
