The best 11-0 team in the country? - ITS NOT THE PATRIOTS!

You know, it's great that these kids had such a great season, but the reporter did a HUGE disservice to them by reporting obviously erroneous stats.

It makes you wonder what else is wrong in the article when something so easily checked as whether the numbers even add up is wrong.

"The 9 year old team finished the season undefeated and left no doubt about the outcome by winning their championship game 40-0. The 12/13 team played tough defense and stepped it up in the 2nd half stretching a 6-0 halftime lead into a 19-0 victory."

Running up the score...what kind of example are these little punks setting for all of the adults who are looking up to them as role models?

wait until espn hears of this, theyll start condemning the coaches and everyone else

It's a shame that you didn't think to stick "Sawnee Mountain Panthers" into google. Might I suggest that you do so? It isn't difficult. Congrats to the Panthers.

Christ I was being sarcastic at the end of my post because it is obvious this writer took something and made up alot of stats and more then likely changed the words of that nine year old.. if your going to quote something, then it damn well better be the exact words they say..

Well I see no reason to get worked up about a kiddie team.
Let them be the best "11-0" team, the Pats will be the best "12-0" team after they beat the Ravens.

It's just a fluff piece people. It has about the same amount of substance as an article titled "Aren't puppies cute?" Duh of course they're cute, but it's irrelevant. Don't take this article seriously, because it just doesn't deserve it.

They had an easier schedule that Ohio State. Not one nationally ranked team on their schedule.

My mistake. Sorry. :bricks:

Probably a dead thread by now but happened upon it by googling my old team. I couldn't help but smirk at the comments made here. I coached this team which was written up in the AJC. This was a fine group of intelligent young men. Probably the best group I'll ever have the chance to coach. Also the best parent group I've ever been associated with. It was my pleasure, along with the other coaches leading this team through the season and the championship. Just wanted to say "hello" to everyone here and clear up a few things.....
1) We are real
2) The 9 y/o quoted in the article said exactly what was printed. (very intelligent kid)
3) I'm the coach who keeps stats on my football teams.
4) The yard's allowed per game was a mis-quote by the reporter; however, the yards quoted for the year was not.
5) The other references, (9 y/o's against the Pats?) Give me a break!
6) Interesting we made your forum!
Lastly,
Go Falcons!
Best Regards,
Coach Kendrix

So, did the Jets ever call you? I'd have hired you before Rex any day.
