I would just like some other teams analysis on him other than the bias Bengals:) What do you think of him? Do you think he is an elite QB? or do you think that he is a fraud? I am hoping for intelligent discussion, so please feel free to your opinion. My view on him is that he is everything you could as for in a quarterback with a good arm with good accuracy. He is very elusive and hard to tackle despite not being blazing fast but he has some maturing to do and he needs to learn when to get rid of the ball. I think he has shown that he can be effective from the pocket as well as being a very good passer while being chased and on the move. I think that he is a good leader who leads by example and from what I have heard he has the desire to be great.

He's an improvement over Mark Malone, Neil O'Donnell, Mike Tomczak, Kordell Stewart, Kent Graham and Tommy Maddox.

Holy crap that's like walking up to a woman at a bar and saying "Gee you smell pretty good for a fat broad."

Since I'm a fan of the team and this is a Patriots board, I thought I could get away with a little sarcasm. I love the guy! After all those previous QB's, Ben is like a breath of fresh air, as they say.

:) That is the truth. Though I have to agree that he is the best we have had since Bradshaw, and I think that he is one of the most physically talented qb's i have ever seen.

He's certainly not a fraud. The one thing that I think happens to him at times is he wants to be the gunslinger. As long as he doesn't get caught up in trying to hit the big play he's very good. Against the Bengals at times I think he's tried to match Palmer, who I feel is overrated, and gotten into trouble with turnovers.

He's not in the class of Brady or Manning but I'd say he's a top 5 QB for sure.

When he has a bad game, (like in Denver - before they really pressured him) I had flashbacks of Kordell (minus all the INT's). Kordell had a problem with putting forth the effort during the week. My thinking was, okay this guy thinks he knows it all already. He needs to "prepare" for the freaking game. From what I've read he really does practice and study hard though....thank gawd!

I can handle that, how do you think he stacks up against Palmer?

Actually, despite losing that game. The denver loss showed that he could be a good passer despite struggling early he really looked good in that game. It was the first I have seen Ben really take over a game with his passing ability.

I think he's a tremendous athlete. Not the most cerebral cat, however.

I'm not a Palmer fan. I think he whines way too much. As far as physical skill Palmer might have more than any current QB but he's arrogant and NEVER gives his opponents credit. It's always some excuse with him. The funny thing is I liked him coming out of college but after watching him not be accountable again and again he lost me.

So I'd take BR over him.

ill take palmer anyday over ben .hell ill take palmer over anybody but brady and peyton manning.

Welcome back, did you and Aqua get bounced together? Is he back too?

Well, hes not a "pure" passer really, but I think he is a whole different animal from guys like VY, because he does have good throwing ability and I think he will continue showing improvement being a pocket passer. The mobility is just an added bonus because Ben is not a runner, he just has the ability to run. When he starts running around though he can by time and hit a long completion down field, which is pretty fun to watch in its own right.:)

I think that he is well on his way to becoming an elite quarterback. What I like about him is that he is tough and seems to be willing to try anything in order to win the game. As far as a comparison to Palmer, he is getting there, nothing wrong with his arm, just seems that Palmer is more poised and disciplined in his approach to conducting the game. I think that Ben is learning the discipline and the poise will come with discipline. I would hope that a coach would never remove the unpredictable, wild-card quality from his game. I like him and I enjoyed watching him in college.

Yeah, Palmer does have great passing ability but he has shown to be pretty erratic and he folds under pressure like a lawn chair. I'm not going to be a major homer and say that I think Ben is way better, but I would never trade Big Ben for him.

He's a football player who plays QB. Not a pure passer, not real heady. Just enough of both plus with a little escapeablilty (sp?). Mostly, Just a competitor. That's why I like him.

Thats what I like so much about him, he will go try and make blocks for his running back and make tackles when the defense gets a turnover. When Joey Porter intercepted him on monday night it was ben who brought him down:)

Some of the tackles I see him break makes me wonder if he has any relation to houdini. Its so crazy watching him pretty much getting wrapped up by a linemen and ducking out of it.

Have you noticed that lately that he's actually going down more often? Either the coverage has been getting better or they're approaching tackling him differently. I know they're trying to keep him in the pocket.
