It's from Jaws :

"On Hall of Famer Don Shula’s planned visit to ESPN’s MNF booth Monday in Baltimore …

“The one thing we know about Coach Shula is that he will not hold anything back.’’"

Wonderful

OK, MNF has now officially become a zoo. Before, it was a circus, but now it's a zoo. All week, Jaworski has been planting Moss statements questioning his effort and heart. It's just a setup for the MNF broadcast. There's only one reason to bring this dope (Shula) on, and it's to get him to say something controversial in the hopes of boosting ratings and having something to report on ESPN.com. Wonder if they'll remember there's a football game being played. I'm now planning on how I can turn down the sound and substitute a radio broadcast, as I'm out of the New England area and need to find a national radio feed.

Give me the freakin' Sunday 1pm games. I long to get back to a simpler world . . .

2 things:

  1. I will be entertained by Shula.
  2. I hope Moss reads Jaws' comments, internalizes them, and unleashes them on the Ravens.

No kidding on the 1PM games. We havent had one of those since week 7 against Miami. That's 6 weeks now since a 'normal' game time. And considering all the money the NFL has no doubt made off the Colts and Dallas games broadcast ratings, and now 3 straight prime time games, I wonder if they'll give NE and Belichick back those fines they were hit with.

You hear about how these NFL players are 'creatures of habit'. How hard must it be to have to constantly play their games at 4PM or at night? Im sure theyre looking for just a small taste of normalcy at this point. But for some reason, I just dont see much of that coming.

This ESPN thing is just infuriating me..Jaws..is a good analyst maybe one of teh best, but this Moss thing makes me want to puke..He better SHUT his JAWS...and stop flapping crazp..polish rifle is skooting blanks.. FU!!!
And inviting Shula in?? Just more BS..

I am liking the bulliten board material from Jaws though...I wish more would keep talking...

The NFL doesn't make any money, the owners of the teams do. Bob Kraft, along with every other owner, is compensated well for those games in the form of huge TV contracts. I don't think they mind playing in primetime.

Just great. More crap from the booth. Haven't we heard enough from Shula already? We have to sit thru those weight loss commercials too.

Yes, I hope Moss has a monstah game on Monday. They will not have anything to talk about.

Don't forget that Jaws is a Philly guy. That has got to figure in as well.

I've been tempted alot of times this year to mute the MNF broadcast, I believe this is the first week I will actually do this. :D

If we look at this from an economic standpoint, and we consider some of the games televised on MNF so far this season, the conclusion is that they'll do anything to pump up the interest, and they're hoping this game turns out to be a contest like the Eagles game on Sunday night. Some of the blowouts this season on MNF:
Tennessee 31 New Orleans 14
New England 34 Cincinnati 13
NYG 31 Atlanta 10
Indy 29 Jax 7
Pittsburgh 38 Baltimore 7
Seattle 24 San Fran 0
Denver 34 Tenn 20

Then add this to the Pittsburgh 3 Miami 0 game this week along with Washington 20 Philly 12 that leave national audiences checking their watches after the first half, they need to drum up interest. If New England dominates the first half and puts points on the board, considering Baltimore's anemic offense, they lose most of their viewers before halftime. Having Shula visit the booth provides some national interest. But this network knows that if the games are boring or one-sided, they lose their audience early with the exception of those loyal fans of the teams playing. Therefore, they must keep the zoo atmosphere to compete against a late hour and a boring game. Unfortunately, that's a fact of life with MNF and SNF for that matter. I don't like it, but that's what we've got this week with Jaworski's criticisms of Moss and the announcement of Shula's appearance.

50 point win plus a snowplow.

Don't worry, the stirring of the proverbial pot will increase geometrically the closer the Pats get to perfection. Locker room material will be about as hard to find as finding Packman Jones in a strip joint. Locker room material guaranyeed. Stay tuned.

Were that to happen Ol Shula would have the big one right there in the booth, maybe making the MNF booth antics worth watching for once.

pacman, strip joint...good one:singing:
I think it's getting to the point where we fans are getting more stressed out than our team. The media, and ex dolphin has-beens, are motivating our team, but stressing us out, as well as annoying the hell out of us. it'll all be good at the end of the year when b.b. receives the lombardi from goodell:rocker:

 and  again.

Normally I hate watching games in a bar...I just don't think you get the same feel for it, but the ESPN coverage is so terrible, and it will be multiplied in the negative direction this week because of Spygate/Shula, it's going to be almost an impossible listen.

I think I am going to go to a bar on Monday.

I agree, I hope they keep running their mouths. After dismantling the Ravens the team will be sending a big "F.U." to the booth

I hope the Ravens take the lead some point in the game so Shula will loosen his lips a little bit just to show the nation what he's all about

Great!

Just what you want, a nice "Unbiased" booth visitor like Shula!?!?

I'm actually thinking that the latest November "Bang Cartoon" about Shula is going to end up being dead on the money for a Shula rant on Monday. :D
