A Dallas/NE Superbowl on it's current pace. Talk about the storylines and ratings! If these two teams, and it's probably still a long shot, make the Superbowl with one loss total, you might see the highest ratings of all time. How much would the NFL LOVE to see that? For 18-0 vs. 17-1 - we all know our schedule and the road to going undefeated - Dallas has:

@ Detroit
Philly
@Carolina
@Washington

Those are all games they'll be favored to win fairly easily, the question mark will be whether they come to play in a meaningless game @ Washington. I don't see anyone going on the road and beating them in the playoffs.

Storylines
The undefeated Evil Empire against America's team and the only loss they've suffered
Huge underdog versus goliath story
Two low drafted QB's
Moss vs. Owens
Crayton mouthing off
I mean, that list goes on and on and on, we could probably build a list of 100 items

What a huge game that would be - does it set the all time SB ratings record?

Wade Phillips. That's enough storyline for me.

I agree..but hat sucks a lot of drama out of the game is the17-1 team's ONE loss was to the 18-0 team, and it was at home and by 21 points. Had Dallas lost to any other team and they hadn't played the Pats, the hype would be so much bigger and you'd have more people believing they have a shot.

Imagine if Parcells was still coach there - The ratings would be astronomical

Yeah, i wouldnt mind facing the Boys again. But it also would be huge if Favre made it. Those headlines would be outrageous as well.

As long as WE make it I don't really care which chumps the NFC serves up. :cool:

I still maintain my sentiments that the Boys will do something stupid in the playoffs to blow the game (see the Chargers last year). The Cowboys are a loose ship and the players run the show over there.

Get used to the tagline "Duel in the Desert" if that's the matchup. You heard it here first.

Untill Romo mannings in the playoffs.

That was my first thought also (especially if Terry Glenn and Drew Bledsoe were still on the team).

while we're looking into the future, how about this? TWO undefeated seasons IN A ROW!

Yeah, I've already got my "One for the Thumb" sign.

Gag.

One game at a time, fellas. ;)

One regular season game doesn't mean much though. In 1981, the 49ers beat the Cowboys 45-14 during the regular season, but it took THE CATCH to finally kill them off in the playoffs. And then there was the game last Sunday vs. the Eagles that made the Pats look very mortal. Pats - Dallas might be the most hyped SB ever, I agree, but both teams have to get there first. ;)

Cowboy's only championship in a decade........

A better scenario is beating the Broncos then the Colts then the Packers. Call it the revenge tour as those are the only teams to have knocked us out of the postseason in recent history.

Recent history defined as we still have players on the team who could remember losing to them.

I guess the Browns sorta count too since Troy was on the team when we lost to them in Parcells' second year but what are you gonna do it's obvious that the Pats will at least have a bye.
