A lot of players and experts are throwing the "if we" did this out there this year. Is it me or is this going on more then before? Players seem to be making a lot of excuses this year.

If we made this play we would have done this

If we had more time we could have won

If the recievers made this play we would have won

Blah blah blah

The reason teams win or lose is because they DID NOT execute certain things at certain times. I am sick of it.

If the pats had done a lot of things some of these games would have been much more of a beatdown then they turned out to be.

My favorite "if" came from Kordell Stewart in 2001. " We would have won the AFCCG if I hadn't thrown those two interceptions." Duh!

If my aunt had gonads then she would be my uncle!

It's why I hate when fans and media start talking about going the distance, winning the Super Bowl, and everything as if it's a done deal. It's also why I appreciate Bill Belichick so much - you play the schedule one game at a time, you respect your opponent talentwise, and you don't take your eyes off of the only prize that counts: the Lombardi Trophy.

I remember the days when I would happily watch Sportscenter all morning, but I can't stomach 99% of all sports coverage now. It's omnipresent, mostly juvenile, and generally awful.

My favorite is, "if the Pats didn't have Tom Brady...."

They have a term for it. It's called, Monday Morning Quarterbacking. :D

Yeah, you hear that sort of thing all the time. It's moronic. Yeah, if the Patriots didn't have Tom Brady, they wouldn't be as good. But they do have Tom Brady! He's part of the team!!

A related thing is when people say, "The Team A should have beaten Team B". Like some people have said that the Eagles should have beaten the Patriots, if not for those two Samuel interceptions. So if the quarterback screws up it shouldn't count against your team?

It's also irritating when people say that the better team lost. Sure, this happens sometimes. Upsets happen. But so what? What's the point of complaining that the "better team" lost?

"If the Jets didn't suck...."
