Any word on Kareem Brown?

I believe if someone claimed him, it would be announced already or in the next few hours at the latest. I hope nobody did, so we can put him on our practice squad for now.

Re: Any word on Kareem Brown?

I was a bit disappointed too that they released Kareem.
He could have developed into something.

Re: Any word on Kareem Brown?

I really hope there's a draft next year, otherwise losing Kareem Brown (presuming he's lost) is going to hurt.

Defensive lineman Kareem Brown, who was waived by the Patriots on Tuesday, has been claimed by the New York Jets.

The Ravens and 49ers had also placed a waiver claim on Brown. But since the Jets have the worst record among the three teams at 2-9, they were awarded Brown.

The Patriots drafted Brown in the fourth round out of the University of Miami. Brown did not appear in a game this season and it was presumed that he would return to the Patriots' practice squad if he cleared waivers.

Blech.

Why doesn't that surprise me. More fuel on the fire I guess.

ha, funny how the ravens wanted him...can u say pregame questioning?

as for the Jets...i assume theyll claim everyone we let go...

now for the 49's, they may have been the only team that really wanted him

Jets for the same reason, pregame questioning. Its not like things are gonna change that much between now and when we play the Jets.

Re: Any word on Kareem Brown?

Now the Jets have as many of our 2007 draft choices on their 53

man roster as we do. They also have one other pick (Oldenburg) on

their practice squad. So much for those critics who questioned the

wisdom of the Jets for trading most of their draft picks to get Revis and

Harris while we were smart and held on to our nine picks.

So how many guys from this year's draft class are still with the team, either active, practice squad or IR? 3 out of nine.

The Jets keep picking scraps from our table.

When will they learn? Only the Patriots can turn garbage into solid players. The Jets cant.

People also seem to forget the Patriots hated this draft, and did their best to move picks forward or acquire veteran players with. This draft is a success as far as I'm concerned, Randy Moss and Wes Welker make it so.

I just mentioned on another thread that the Jets have as many of our

2007 draft choices on their 53 man roster as we do (grand total of one).

Three out of nine is pretty lousy no matter how good the drafting team is.

If the Pats were going to blow away the 2007 draft, why didn't they

trade away all their choices except for the four complementary picks?

I hope I'm reading that right.

Hee hee.

Re: Any word on Kareem Brown?

Pretty sure the Jets will field a whole team of players we have cut.

Re: Any word on Kareem Brown?

Feh. More fuel for the border war. :) /

But, seriously, though--by and large, if more than a few rookies made the team, it would have been very weird--but I didn't expect so many to be claimed off waivers by other teams (although I'm personally hoping the Cowboys are smart enough to develop Justin Rogers, but stupid enough to let him become an RFA).

Maybe someday he'll outplay Santonio Thomas.

Makes you wonder what it would have hurt to just throw darts at every player with LB next to his name?

The trouble with losing so many rookies is that they are a source of

cheap talent. You can use their low salaries to offset large salaries.

This is what enables the Colts to pay players like Peyton Manning,

Reggie Wayne, and Dwight Freeney.

Does this mean Mel Kiper might need to get a REAL job?
