Just spoke with a buddy of mine who lives in Baltimore and is a Ravens fan. He says the Ravens are EXTREMELY angry after the drubbing in San Diego and over their season in general, and will be out for blood Monday night. At least, their defense will. He said he doesn't think their offense is capable of much but to expect a very physical game. That appears to be the mood down there.

Is he on the team? :D

sounds like your buddy was trying to channel ray-ray

NEP>SD>Balt

going to be a W for the visitors...and Balt should worry about their own butts--NEP know how to punch another team in the mouth too

Wow, does he hang out in their locker room or get to practice with them on the field? I doubt they said this to the media, so I'm wondering how he found out about it?

In all seriousness, Monday Night game on the road, against a team with NOTHING to lose and a vicious defense (I didn't say "great defense", but they are vicious).

A pissed off Kyle Boller scares the hell out of me.

right - and guess who else are 'really mad' - the pats!

kyle boller doesn't scare anyone, and for the umpteenth straight season, the ravens offense stinks. I'll be very surprised if Brian Billick survives this off-season as the ravens coach.

pats in a cakewalk.

Ray Lewis has been coming on lately, but Ed Reed is a shell of his former self, repeatedly getting lost in coverage. Chris McAlister is like Ty Law nowadays...can get torched over the top. This Ravens D is the type the Pats' spread offense should eat alive.

Let's not even get into the Ravens O.

Regards,
Chris

I'm staying with a Raven fan; my son-in-law for a couple weeks. Haven't seen anything of that sort here in Crofton MD. Going to Monday night's game.
Most of the energy in the DC area centers around Sean Taylor.

The Ravens need more than anger to fix their problems. Watching them vs. SD I saw a very poorly prepared/ coached team without talent or motivation.

Yeah - Ray Lewis is so angry he's going to fall twice as hard on piles and jump up 3 times as fast pumping his fist and dancing so the people watching on TV think he made a play.

No fanbase ever thinks their team will play soft. Every fan thinks his team is tougher than others and can win physically.

How did "punching Brady in the mouth" work for Merriman? How did the fearsome Taylor-Landry duo work out for Washington? How useless was Roy Williams in the Dallas game? It takes a lot more than brute physicality to beat NE.

If Baltimore plays well toughness will be pointed to as an important factor. If they get destroyed no one will take it as an indictment of their toughness. The reality is that it won't really matter either way.

And he'll likely deflect any potential picks away from his own teamates and he's liable to take a couple of them out in the anger filled process...

Unless that D can play disciplined they will only hurt themselves in the process. And absent an offense, they can't afford to do that.

After 11 games they are now finally mad and have magically turned
into ferocious animals. :D ... bring them on baby! :rocker:

Given the way Rodney's played lately, I'm not sure this is a path you should be heading down...

Nothing against him, he's been great, but he's been more than a little out of control lately too.

I'm curious about crowd noise in Baltimore - I've been to a Monday night game there before but it was late in the season and both teams sucked so not much enthusiasm from the crowd.

Everybody is, on some level, "angry" in a football game. Every team is full of bluster and disrespect. Everyone is going to bring something extra when they play the Pats. And except for the Iggles (I don't even count Indy in this respect) that pre-game trash-talk, fired up nonsense has fallen flat on its face within 10 minutes.

Pats win by a ton but maybe don't cover. MAYBE.

That's exactly how he found out about it. Between AM stations 1090, 1300 and 1570, there are maybe a half-dozen shows hosted by Ravens, incl. Billick. If there's one thing they like to do - besides play like bullies, choke against the dolts, and murder people (allegedly) - then that's talk.

The callers to the sports-talk stations, OTOH, are generally predicting a Pats blowout, which includes covering the point-spread. I don't see that happening now, not after the defense's atrocious performance vs. Philly.

philly was a wierd beast, BB got outcoached...not many times that will happen, i doubt it will happen again this season

You do have to worry about the teams we don't see often- and we've played 26 out of the other 30 teams in the 3 years since we last played B'more.

A pissed off Kyle Boller scares the hell out of me.

Why? Cause he might pee himself and embarrass the whole league.
You're right, Sey. I'm worried too.:p
