Are Steelers a dirty team?

I ask this because we play them in Two weeks and their has been a call in the media and among other fans to HURT BRADY.

In the Monday night game the injury to R Williams looks intentional and premeditated. If your watch the NFL Chanel's "PUT UP YOUR DUKES, there is a clip of this injury from two different angles and the second angle shows Ricky laying defenseless on the ground with all but one player focusing on the loose ball he just fumbled.

The player who steps on Ricky is not looking for the loose ball but rather lining up on Ricky laying defenseless on the ground, then He lifts his leg as high a possible, without any apparent reason, for to lift it this high interrupts his previous cadence, and then he stabs it into Ricky's shoulder bringing down his entire wait and moves on.

If this was the first time a suspect injury occurred from the Steelers i would not be as suspicious but this is only one in a long list of suspect injuries, T Brady, Carson Palmer, and Rodney Harrison are three that come to mind in the recent past and now Ricky.

In law enforcement a pattern implies intent and there is a distinct pattern to high profile players being injured when playing the Steelers.

I wonder why PFT has never picked up on this?

You could be right. I thought it looked intentional myself.
problem is, tough to prove something like that.

If the players believed it, they would doll out their own street justice.

what's good for the goose, is good for the gander, so they could hurt roethlisberger, and then the steelers would be sorry. but they don't, so they must not believe these things are being done on purpose.

now if it was kevin mawee, you'd know it was purposeful.

I believe so,and for a long time. They clearly went after Bradys knees until they knocked him out of the game and was replaced by Bledsoe. I thought looking at the Palmer/Von Ollenhoffen play that KVO clearly crawled along the ground than rose up and dove at Palmers knees in that playoff game. And I had no dog in that fight. I didn't care who won. I still can't believe the silence on that play KVO said it wasn't intentional and no one questioned it. Harrison was an accident. I saw the play many times and no one is looking at lining Rodney up,to intentionally hurt him.

When I started to read the post my reaction was another homerism going over the top but after reading I believe you have a good point. The Williams play is suspicious and I thought so immediately (during the broadcast).

another forum member and I where watching that play yesterday at my place, watched it in slow-mo and from all the angles broadcast; just something not right with it. the way his leg went up was completely out of the norm for the way he moved the entire rest of the play. that craptastic field may have had something to do with it but boy did it look bad. odd coincidence

Not just step on him, but also to push him away from the ball so Williams couldn't recover it. The Steelers player could have avoided Ricky, but he put his leg out at an angle to step on and push Ricky away and down. It is very clearly an intentional move and the player should be fined and/or fined and suspended.

thing is, he might have been just trying to keep him from getting the fumble. not necessarily hurt him. you shouldn't step on someone to keep him from a fumble, obviously, but I can see him just reacting that way, as opposed to saying, 'let me see if I can hurt this guy'.

It's tough to say and I don't think we'll ever know.

I seem to have noticed their corners are pretty dirty. McFadden and Townsend. I remember one of them trying to start fisticuffs with Marvin Harrison like two years ago I think, and they try to get away with whatever cheap things they can. I dunno about any of the others really.

I also thought the stomp was intentional. The puzzling thing about the whole hit is that no one has even mentioned it on any of the tv football coverage of the games this past week. It has just gone away...almost like everyone is glad Ricky Williams was injured badly enough to cost him the season.

The entire hit is at least questionable and at most a flagrant move to injure a player.

1) Brady's knee in 2001 playoffs.
2) Rodney Harrison's knee and (Matt Light?) in another game.
.....more
3) Carson Palmer in another game.
4) Now Ricky Williams.

As far as a few players being dirty, like those mentioned, they do not speak for the team as a whole. There are dirty players on every team.

As far as "the stomp" is concerned, didn't a certain Richard Seymour do something similar? While the outcome was quite different, Big Sey did stomp a guy and get away with it.
