Colvin joins Morris on IR. Does "out for the season" mean the regular season only? Or, are the available for the playoffs

Hello shadow roster. Welcome Chad Brown.

Colvin joins Morris on IR. Does "out for the season" mean the regular season only? Or, are the available for the playoffs
it means out until next year. what happened, he broke his foot? that sucks. i think he's one of our best impact players on defense. i think his loss will hurt more than people realize. i don't see thomas stepping up and playing as physical as rosie. on the other hand, it's times like this when BB shows his superior coaching skills by making up for lost talent. to me, this has been the essence of our dynasty

Really sucks for Rosie and for us. Wasn't this his contract year? Or does he have one more. P.Woods will have to step up. C.Brown coming back doesn't fill me with confidence. Also, may mean more time at ILB for Vrabel.

time for thomas to show he's worth all the money

I don't agree with this. Its true Rosie will be missed but Thomas will be great at OLB. Its ILB that we should be worried about.

Rosie was having a good year. The main issue here is that this is a position that needed a rotation, and the perfect rotation is now out with Colvin on IR. The 5 LBs gave the team flexibility and could spell one another. Chad Brown is simply a stopgap measure, and I don't expect to see him take a regular turn at LB.

Am I among the minority who think that this is dreadful news?? I liked Rosie's plays a lot and feel that we will miss him incredibly, especially during the playoffs. The joy of Troy Brown's roster move is totally overshadowed by Rosie's news....

GUTTED ,, will he be missed ? YES. I think thats going to hurt us a bit. Loved his play this year and whats with him and the Eagles ?!!! 2nd time we have lost for the season playing against them. Sucks. My son knows that hes my favorite player on defense . arghhh. Oh well thats 2 crucial players out for the season. Who said Pats dont get injuries ? GO PATS.

again, i think he was by far our biggest impact player on defense, often making the decisive big play in the game, be it a sack, INT, fumble recovery, etc. BB has always relied on this type of player as an essential element for a winning team. before colvin it was mcginnist. i dont see anyone else stepping up except for maybe thomas. as is oftne the case w/ this team the onus will be on BB's superior coaching to make up for talent deficit.

That's it. Colvin is not allowed to play against Philadelphia in the regular season anymore!

2 games, 2 season-ending injuries!

Hip in '03, foot in '07.

I'm with you.

Everybody talks Seymour and Bruschi as our big defensive players, but I think Colvin is a huge factor on this defense. A much bigger factor than say, a Seymour or a Bruschi, blasphemy as it is around these parts. Green can fill in nicely for Seymour and Seau could go from platooning to full-time in backing up Bruschi or vice versa.

There is no one that does what Rosie does on this team, save for Adalius Thomas, and and if you switch Thomas over, then who fills his spot? Eric ALexander? Pierre Woods? Larry Izzo?

No, this is a BIG loss to this team.

In my mind right now, there are 4 players on this defense that are vital: Colvin, Samuel and Wilfork, because there are no other players on the roster that can do what they do at that level, and Vrabel, because he can do it all! He is our "Swiss Army Knife" as SI called him.
