Three Browns making Patriot news today. Another record.

We didn't care about the draft? Look at the last two drafts. Not very good at all. We better keep parlaying draft picks into the Randy Moss's and Wes Welker's of the world, because obviously Pioli is in a MAJOR SLUMP with his draft selections.

Re: Troy activated, Colvin to IR, Chad Brown signed

AD to outside to replace Colvin, maybe, and Brown/Seau/Bruschi inside?

Re: Troy activated, Colvin to IR, Chad Brown signed

We can not afford anymore injuries to the LBs. Wasn't Colvin our fastest linebacker? And did he really look that badly injured? Seems kinda quick to IR him, thought maybe we could have waited on that move. I doubt anyone was calling Chad Brown.

BB isn't a big fan of waiting for guys to get healthy during the season. The fact he stuck it out with Ted Washington for 7 weeks in 2003 when he broke his leg is amazing when you look back on it.

I knew we were ****ed when Andrea Kramer was boasting about how healthy we were during the pre-game.

What? REALLY? YES.
What? REALLY? NO. :(
Oh.

A big loss and a great feeling gain.

So, will Troy be seeing action Monday?

Re: Troy activated, Colvin to IR, Chad Brown signed

Now Alexander and Chad Brown are the main backups at LB? And Pierre Woods, I guess. I suspect we'll see more and more 4-3 looks with Colvin gone.

Good to see Troy back, though.

Oh good god. We waived Kareem Brown, not because he sucked, but because we needed a place for the other Brown.

I love Troy but one of the positions he *can't* play is LB.

That's terrible news on Colvin. Damnit...

Brown is an OLD. They tried the inside experiment with him acouple of seasons back and it failed miserably. This is terrible news about Colvin however, (with all due respect) how much worse would Brown be on the outside? I mean Colvin hasn't really shown up that much this year and OLB is Brown's natural position.

Chad Brown, ugh.

Well Bruschi and Seau in the middle and AD and Vrabel on the outside is not a bad situation if they can stay healthy. Who else is left, Pierre Woods, Chad Brown, Eric Alexander and Larry Izzo. Yikes.

Chad Brown cannot play inside. Hopefully, he's only backing up the OLB. I still think he can play a bit on the outside. (I say as I duck rotten tomatoes hurled in my direction).

Could you possibly be any more of an idiot? With every post, you just keep piling the crap up higher around yourself.

Dig *up*, stupid.

I wonder if Troy's been taking any reps at ILB?

Re: Troy activated, Colvin to IR, Chad Brown signed

Crap, this is the worst news. Rosie was playing great this year and loosing him is going to be a big blow. I think we are going to see a AD move to the outside with Teddy and Junior playing the middle. Vrabs will stay on the other side.

Man, this sucks.

We're still better off than we were when Seau went down last year. Let's be honest, AD wasn't exactly lighting it up on the inside this year. Now, everyone can be at their natural positions.

Really stinks..Colvin has been a solid outside backer....looking for Chad to get back to his OLD spot and do what he does best..
I really wonder what the injury was..had to have been really bad....they did wait on TedW and TedJ...in 03 and in 04, they waited on Branch....and 05??..wasn't it Light they waited on and then IRed him because on complications?? Faulk?? Harrison?? At this point..I guess it was really severe and there was no hope of getting him back in Jan..really stinks..

Man Colvin is one of my favorite Patriots.
Looks like he'll be asked to restructure man we sure are gonna have to rebuild this linebacking core next year.
Question for the cap gurus here is it possible to trade Stallworth before we have to pick up his option or could another team agree to pick it up barring a trade.
Another outside possible is we bring in a karlos dansby or a lance briggs.

My memory could be playing tricks, but wasn't Chad Brown playing on the outside in pre-season? I seem to recall him playing opposite Woods.

Our top 4 are still fine, it's depth that could be the issue. Seau and Bruschi still need to be given breathers, so the opportunity is there for one or more of Alexander, Woods, or Brown to step up.

As it stands right now, no. The trading period starts AFTER the deadline to pick Stallworth's option passes. There was talk of moving up the trading period.

The issue is health. We have come to Game 12 with a relatively healthy set of linebackers.

We have four excellent starters, and three backups well-experienced in our system. Chad Brown is an emergency pickup since we already have Woods as a backup OLB. Alexander is the backup ILB.

Thomas and Vrabel outside is as good as it gets.
