The blueprint has been there for years. The Eagles were ALMOST able to execute it.

Re: Why is EPN talking about Did the Eagles layout the blueprint to beat the Pats?

because they think Patriots are so stupid that they wont adjust their protection little better and play better D..

there is no blueprint. they got a pass rush..okay so pass rush. im pretty sure we wont come out passing on the first 26 plays..im pretty sure our OL will be better and im sure other offensive players will ahve big games. our O wasnt a problem..it was the D. Whats the blue print? Throw to the open man and dont throw at Asante is gonna be an adjustment to enhance the gameplan

When are you guys going to figure out that the point of the sports media is not to accurately report on things, it's to make stories that people will want to watch.

What do you think is more interesting to viewers who are not Patriots fans? More 'Patriots are undefeated and unstoppable' talk or the whole blueprint spiel?

The blueprint crap is, well, crap, anyways because the 'blueprint' is being able to get pressure with your front 5 while covering everyone downfield well. That's a 'blueprint' to stop anyone. Good luck finding a team with the personnel to replicate that on defense and have an offense that will hang with the Patriots O.

ESPN acts like the PATS won't watch the Film of that close victory

The only real story in this game is simple.....the Eagles were playing in their Super Bowl while the Pats were playing the Eagles that they had seen on film.

They laid out the perfect blueprint.

Do everything the Eagles did. Oh...and don't throw 3 INT's.

yeah. all u need is for us to play the same type of game..and hope our D doesnt cover and hope tackles dont block

Im sick of this blueprint ********* they said the same thing after we beat the colts and were still 11-0 bring on the rest of the league I dont give a damn.

In case anyone was wondering, here is the blueprint against the Pats offense (code name "Slow Death"):

1) Pressure/hit/sack Brady - 5 defenders

2) Don't let Moss beat you deep - 2 defenders

3) Try real hard to cover the other 4 guys - 4 defenders

It took countless hours of grueling research to come up with this. The blueprint against the Pats defense (code name "West Coast") is even more revolutionary:

1) Spread out the defense with multiple receivers

2) Get the ball out quickly

3) Hit short to medium slant passes to a variety of receivers

This really could change the game as we know it. You know...that blueprint offense might just catch on and be useful against other teams besides the Pats.

This blueprint BS is just more motivation for the Pats. How many times can the media add fuel to the fire (Spygate,Running up the score,Bill's postgame handshakes, now the blueprint)? If anything the Eagles game was a blessing in disguise.

They have been announcing it as "coming up" for the past hour. I had the same curiosity - if you still lost the game (and allowed the Pats to score 31 in the process), how exactly have you uncovered the fountain of success? I haven't seen the report, but I imagine that it says something like:

Pressure Brady; shut down Moss; throw crossing routes over the middle; try an onside kick once in a while.

Maybe they should title the report, "How to Lessen the Loss" ;)

Well, it *was* a good game. I managed to stay up hours after the last interception. Personally, I think it is a blessing -- to ground the Pats (without a loss) two games before the Steelers. As for the Blue Print hype, that's all it is. The media wants people to tune in to see if teams better than the Iggles can 'leverage' the Blue Print to topple the Greatest Team Ever. They don't believe it, but there are ratings at stake.

BTW, I watched the Phins tonight despite not caring who would win. Blue Print, longest time without a score, terrible field conditions -- all very entertaining. I guess the Steelers winning by 3 was the best possible outcome (winless Phins + unimpressive Steelers).

Clash of the Titans Thursday. Good stuff this NFL. Enjoy!

the eagles simply blitzed more and executed everything else others tried to do.

doubled moss..they did it better than others
hit the open WRs..they got more time to thrown than others
pressure Brady..some teams tried..many failed.

again..i dont get the whole "blueprint"..the blueprint is EXECUTE..which comes with the word winning and football

Yes, according to the mediots, we're terrible.

Bottom line is that the Eagles LOST the game, and fell to 5-6.

There's no such thing as "moral victories". IF Philly had won, they would have improved to 6-5 AND would be in the driver's seat for a playoff spot. Instead, they're back in the pack of a VERY muddled NFC playoff mess.

BTW-forget Feeley's so-called amazing stats, if he continues to show his bone-headed decision making and weak arm at times, as well as Reid showing his poor clock management skills, they'll be lucky to win 2 games the rest of the way.

We ran a preseason type offense and defense, very vanilla. Moss had a touchdown stolen, then Gostkowski had a field goal stolen. There were ten drops atleast. And you know what...we still won.

Jim Johnson also threw in a few wrinkles, a 3-4 base D with the LBs like Gocong rushing the passer, which he DIDN'T do at all this year.

If anything, this was nothing more than a gimmick, IMHO, b/c this D is too undersized to begin with to play the 3-4.(I doubt if JJ can catch opposing O's off guard like this again)

Pt being that it seemed like not only the Eagles' backs were against the wall, but being a HUGE underdog, they ended up playing with too much motivation and ended up pulling out all the stops every which way.

Like I said above, there's no such thing as "moral victories". If Feeley continues to make poor decisions(at times), and Reid continues to exercise poor clock management, they're not going to the playoffs.

I said this on another board. The Pats had the blueprint to beat the Rams in the SB in 2001....If they played again the next week I'm layin the 14 points on the Rams.

What you have to do to beat the Patriots for openers would be you have to score a minimum of 31 points...the rest is bull****e.The blueprint is scoring more points than the Pats...bottom line.Because no matter what the score is the Pats have the firepower to overcome it.
