I have to say that product has lost its luster for me. It's a crappy product.

1. Overload of Commercials.
2. Non stop jibber-jabber even during play.
3. A little football.

Message to marketing geniuses: STFU and let us watch the game.

Do you remember game 7 of the 2003 ALCS? There was so much hype involved in that game because of the Pedro/Roger match up, and the crowd was going nuts... And for the first half inning, the announcers didn't say a word. The only audio they broadcast was the crowd noise and the normal sounds of the game. It was a rare show of good judgment by Fox, and it was wonderful. Unfortunately it only lasted the half inning.

I think most sports announcers are unnecessary and detract from the game, but the MNF crew is worst than most. And MNF is supposed to be the premier show the NFL has to offer. Tirico is good and Jaws is acceptable, but they are both dragged down by Kornheiser, who in intolerable. I like him on PTI, but on MNF he's awful.

Why does MNF feel like they need to have a gimmicky announcer in the booth? (see also, Rush Limbaugh, Dennis Miller)

dude..Steelers missed a FG. its 0-0. INTENSE GAME

I find Tony entertaining, plus the guy loves praising the Pats, what can I say.

Also the Dolphins holding the Steelers scoreless, not into the fourth quarter is great.

This announcing crew is awful. I didn't think it was possible to replace the previous crew with one that is probably just as bad.

I agree the games are terribly over-produced...At least there's no guest tonight...

Also, the Sunday Night package with the Flex has gotten the better games.

That field makes the Patriots old sod look like a golf course!

The only announcer I find flat out annoying is Madden... He talks like he don't know what he's talking about, like he's reading it off a piece a paper or monitor or something... Wasn't he a coach or something because he sounds like a effin idiot? Fire Madden... I don' t mind the announcers on MNF...

I don't mind any of the guys on that crew. In aggregate, and with their mission statement, though, they just never allow any breathing room and open space for thinking and reflection. It's wall to wall chatter, sometimes about non-game issues, and while play is going on.

You are asking if he was a coach or not?

And then you have the balls to want him fired? Yep, you're credible. You know what the hell day it is.

Madden is a SB coach and knows more in his little finger than your brain could ever hold. But sure, he *sounds* like a dope at times because he's doing what the network asks him to do: Appeal to non-fans to get them engaged in the sport. He's a COLOR man, if you understand what that means.

Madden has a highly technical mind, but he would literally lose 99% of his audience if he talked coach-speak all the time. That is the point of crossing football with entertainment. It's not always what it seems to people like you that don't even know who the guy is.

He won a SB before you toddled around making an ass of yourself as a boy wonder.

If you think MNF is bad, wait until you catch the NFLN games with Bryant Gumbel. Or be happy that you can't get it. As I watched the Dolts game Thanksgiving night I was reminded about how nice it's been without that a--hole on the air. He still sucks as much as he always did. Why they gave him the gig is beyond me.

Maybe you could try turning the TV volume to minimum and
tune in to your favorite radio announcer.

I have to disagree strongly with this. If you really listen to what Madden says (when he talks about football), he is almost always correct. He sees things before they happen and generally surmises the events spot-on.

I find his tangents humorous, but I can understand why some don't. As far as his diagnostic ability, he is far and away among the best.
