With Tv the way it is now, and how things are getting overpriced on tickets, is it better sometime to watch the game from home. For nothing beats going to a game, though I would never do it every week, unless I lived by the stadium and dont have to fight traffic after the game, for me that is the only negative..

stretched out on my world series leather sectional from jordan's...plasma hdtv...yamaha/polk surround sound...fully stocked fridge...couple of big old german shepherd dogs flobbered down at my feet...nothing better...

i was offered a ticket in the 200s for last nights game...as well as the Buff and SD home games...but I'm good observing this amazing season from home...

Going to the game is still better. The October Dallas game was my first NFL game I attended since Houston regular season back in 2003. By watching on TV you can't have the feeling you get when you walk up the ramp and begin to see the interior of the stadium. For those of us who are too cheap to get a high definition TV, being in the stadium and being able to see the secondary gives us a crucial aspect to the game that we usually miss. And even with HD, the camera can only focus so far, you're still missing the long routes.

I voted too soon. If you're including the ticket prices and grief of getting there and getting out of there, then no, I don't think I would go to every game. The weather doesn't deter me though. The best games are the ones in frosty blizzardy conditions. Great stuff.

Those 3 things are the only downfall for me, since this whole Patriot place thing the getting to and leaving the stadium is pretty taxing now... The parking was fine 2 3 yrs ago..

Going to the game is far better than watching it on TV. There's nothing quite like watching the play develop that you just can't see on TV (of course maybe it's because I'm up in the 300s that I have such a good "view" of the route running). Anyway, the 1 or 2 games a year I don't go to are difficult to watch on TV because I'd much rather be there. And, yes, it's not quite as loud or rowdy as the old Foxboro Stadium (except during the playoffs of course), or for that matter Ralph Wilson stadium last Sunday night, but it's still very a enjoyable time. As for some of the other threads and posts here regarding prices, drinking beer and men's room lines, that's where you can spot the rookies. Get there early, tailgate with your own beer in the parking lots, then you only need to buy one (if any) at the game. Once you know the rest room situation, it's no big deal, if I anticipate a timeout, punt etc, I can leave my seat, get to the men's room, listen to Gil and Gino for 1 maybe 2 plays and be back in my seat before the 3rd play is run. After the game, I'm walking in my front door 1 hour or less after the game ends (last night I stayed to the end, and was home by 12:15, in bed by 12:30), it seems that they've changed the traffic flow on Route 1, they stopped traffic southbound and we were able to cross a crosswalk near the Bass Pro, and they let people walk in the break down lane which made if much quicker for those of us NOT parked in the stadium lots.

I enjoy going to the games, but one or two a year is more than enough (and that's when I even get the opportunity to go at all, considering I'm in CA). I enjoy the strategy aspect of the game and it's tough to pay attention to such details when sitting in the corner of an endzone while the action is going on the other half of the field. Since I'm not one of the priviledged to get seats between the 30s, the viewing angle is typically horrible for at least half the game from where I sit.

I do enjoy the atmosphere of being at games and this is why I still enjoy going to a game or two.

Also the one other thing that is pretty steep is 40 bucks for parking, its a little bit pricey, almost as half for a ticket if you get it at face value.. The pats did all this stuff with patiot place, and want you to park in the p-10 lot, the least they could do is lower the parking price a bit and pave the p-10 lot..

You might say this is a reason to stay home too - during all the commercials all the players are just standing around. At least at home you can do something else during those times (flip to another game, go to refrigerator, etc).

In the end, its the getting to and leaving the game nightmare that makes me rather watch on the tube.

I'm going with my son-in-law next Monday. Foxboro is too far from our NH home so I come to MD... for Thanksgiving and 3 grandkids' BDays + what once was a promising showdown; the Ravens are looking sad. Count our blessings we have BB not Billick!

Still waiting to see my Pats live for the first time. I'm from the state of Washington so I count the days until they finally come down to the Seattle area next year. I'll be there for sure. I might even make a trip to San Fran or Oakland too. You guys are lucky to be able to see the Pats all the time live those of you from Mass. area. I was pissed when they cancelled the preseason game in Seattle this year too. Anyway, my vote would be every game live, if it was all up to me.

I used to go more often to the old stadium. I love the new stadium but with the new Patriot Place fiasco, spending over 3 hours geting out and home is too much. I've had HDTV since day one but the camera view on TV sucks, no view of the safetys and too many QB closeups plus obnoxious network promos. Still, as I'm older TV is the choice except for twice a year when I sit next to effete corporate types who think cheering is gauche.

I love, love, love the trek to Foxboro. But it's three hours w/out traffic, so add 1-2 hours for game/workday commutes. I tend to get my fix at training camp. Given a perfect world, I'd be at every game. But reality sets in - and that's when I love my plasma

For my Xmas present this year my wife and mom are sponsoring a trip to Boston for me so I can go to the Jets game (AKA the Massacre).

I've never been to a Gillette, I went to a few games at Foxboro Stadium and then I moved down here (Tampa) in 2003 so I haven't had a chance since.

I went to a the preseason game the Pats played against the Bucs and I know one thing, when it comes to the heat at Raymond James I would rather stay home. It is friggin brutal. I don't know why these stupid rednecks didn't put a dome on that place. Sweat just pours off your head from the mere act of breathing. I love football, but what fun is that to be miserable for 3 hours?

I went to the Dolphins game in October and that was pretty bad too but not quite as bad as the Bucs game. The stadium was a lot nicer they actually provide some shady areas on the concourse so you don't drop dead.

It gets cold in Foxboro but at least you can just keep putting on more layers. When its too hot there's nothing you can do.

if I had 100 level seats I would like to go, otherwise my HD Plasma with Beer Keg fridge and leather couch works out fine. Even though the other half work for the airlines and I could fly down for next to nothing, I would need good seats.

I haven't been to a game in years, what with a 1 year old and 3 year old - but the best and really only way to truly appreciate the "chess game" that is the NFL is to be there at the game, to see the whole field and watch plays unfold.

It's a far cry today from what it was at Foxboro Stadium (schaeffer, sullivan etc..) sitting on aluminum benches that suck the heat right from your ***** - THAT was fan dedication - especially doing so during the Scott Secules, Hugh Millen years of TV blackouts.
