Where was the crowd noise?

I was stunned at the lack of noise in Gillette when the Eagles were on offense last night. I know this is not a new issue, but it was more glaring than ever last night in my opinion. Could have been the broadcast, but I doubt it. This was a close game from start to finish and from my seat in front of the TV the crowd never really contributed. It's unfortunate because the Razor can truly be a 12th man when the effort is there (see Week 2).

You can tell when the crowd gets loud relative to its baseline noise during a normal game. Last night, they rarely got totally up for anything.

The stadium deficiencies when it comes to noise are well documented. But the fans have shown that they can be loud when they want to be. Pointing out the lack of noise last night is not ****ing and moaning.

This sums it up pretty well. I go to all the Pats' home games and have been to enough rival stadiums (Baltimore, Washington, Pittsburgh, Meadowlands, Buffalo) to see and hear the difference. Gillette is unique in the way it's laid out compared all these places, being all spread out and open and with the club seats in a prime mid-field location. The building simply does not contain sound and I believe that was a big mistake when the Krafts had it designed.

I also think a contributing factor last night was that no one took the Eagles as a serious threat going in and in a way, we've gotten conditioned not to have to fulfill that "12th man" function because of the way the Pats have been blowing teams out. It did get loud on third down in crucial situations, I thought, though. It seemed that when we did yell, the defense laid an egg every time.

The stadium had nothing to do with it last night. The crowd was awful. It was the worst i have ever seen, and I have been going to games for a looonnng time. One too many "Pink hats" and "wagon jumpers" walking around that place last night.

That crowd just isnt the same. Seems like it gets worse and worse with every win.

There were a few groups of obnoxious Eagle fans walking up the Ramps with flags, drowning out everyone with their E-A-G-L-E-S chants. Pats fans were just walking past them with their noses in the air and a smirk... Seems like our fanbase has gone soft and arrogant IMO.

Agree with this post. Gillette is just not built to showcase a loud crowd. In my area the crowd was pretty good when the Eagles were on "O", particularly on 3rd down, but there was a little bit of "stunned-ness" if that's a word, that the Eagles were doing so well. I have come to the conclusion also that New England fans, while passionate, are just not that loud all the time. Everyone stayed until the end of the game, though, and when they showed Richard Seymour on the JumboTron in the 4th and he raised his arms, urging the crowd to get into it, it was thunderous. The long tv time-outs at critical moments didn't help either.

The crowd was pretty bad. I suppose it doesn't help that we don't "pipe in" extra noise like the Colts do.

It always pains me that Mass will always be a baseball state, and the Pats will just quite frankly never have the home-field advantage, in terms of crowd intensity as say the Chiefs, Packers, Bears, Redskins, Colts, Raiders, etc.

Not to say there isn't any die-hard go-all-out Pats fans, I and most of the people on this board are, but the state will always be more concerned with baseball. Shame.

I'm ashamed that my team is being abducted by a bunch of "fair weather" fans and wagoneers. I haven't been a fan for all that long (13 years), but I can just picture all these lame ***** attendees who are more concerned with watching the game than making some noise and being true fans. Guess it comes with the territory and I'll have to accept it.

You know who gets screwed in this whole crowd noise thing is the real fans that would give a arm and a leg to go to at least once , and alot of those fans lurk on this board...Here is a list of people go to game

But then you have people that would rather get up every 10 min to go get a beer, and that beer is more important than watching a game.. Dont get me wrong I love beer, but enough is enough, you are paying 100 plus a ticket and you would rather spend 7.50 on beer than watch the game, not me..

Plus at the beggining of the thrid quarter , the restrooms are so packed it takes almost the entire third quarter to get a capacity stadium..

I went last night and had a beer before the game , one beer at 700 but that was it for me.. I want to watch the game and not worry about my next beer and not remember the game the next day..

The Pats game is a party, and it should be, but people some times forget what they are there for..
